Formatting an SD card correctly

Hi everyone,

I've had a dig trhough the forum but can't find an answer to the problem I'm having, maybe I've missed something.

I have an Orange M600 and a 1Gb SD card. When I remove the SD card from the M600 and put it into my laptop's SD slot I get the following message:

"The disk in drive E is not formatted.

Do you want to format it now?"

So I format the card (I've tried both FAT and FAT 32) and eject.

When placed back in the M600 I get the following:

"Do you want to try to format this storage card to make it readable? this will permanently delete any file on the card."

I'd like to keep some music on the card and play it from my M600 and my PC, I'm pretty positive that it's worked before...

Perhaps I've missed something?

The SD card is a Lexar Media 1Gb.

Thanks in advance.

Let the device format the card, if you then continue to get problems then either the card is faulty or not compatable with your device.

Thanks! I've formatted using the M600 and plugged it back into the laptop, still wants to format it!

I'd better look around for another card then!

Thanks again.
