Guest sunniguy
Hello. I'd like to get TomTom working with my Vario 2, but I need a GPS receiver. There are so many selling on eBay... http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll...le=gps+receiver Has anyone bought any receiver from eBay which has worked well with Vario 2 and TomTom? Generally what should I be looking for in a GPS receiver? Thanks.

I bought mine from Ebay (GPS-BT77 Bluetooth Receiver) and it works fine on the Vario2 - haven't tried TomTom im afraid - though IGO Navigator works fine. Guest cipher692000
I'm currently using this one: http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/...escription.html Been using it for well over a year now with TomTom 5 and now 6 without any issues. It's very sensitive (will get a lock in the middle of my house) and the battery lasts for at least 8 hours continuous use. Another good thing about it is that it's tiny and has a fully replaceable battery. C. Edited October 15, 2006 by cipher692000
Guest Kallisti
I bought a GPS receiver on ebay (my third, first battery eventually died, I fried my second). I went for one of the solar ones as I only use the unit occasionally and it's great not havnig to plug it into the cigarette lighter. Go for SIRF III, it's far better than some of the older chipsets, I typically get a lock in the time it takes to put the seatbelt on, start the car and get off my driveway. Just as a note, almost any BT GPS will do the trick.

If you get a CarComm mount they also have a 12v feed out to keep the bluetooth unit charged. Andy
Guest MikeWard1701
I thought the Vario II came with built-in GPS? When I enquired about the Vario II wi CoPilot with the woman at T-Mbile CS she said it had intergrated GPS. Strange. :S Mike
