Guest PolloLoco Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 "yea i try not to get mad at new people asking the same thing, cuz they didnt do anything worse as the person before, they just said the same thing." That's exactly THE POINT, though! Since it's on a public forum, you should learn from the first person's mistakes - not make them AGAIN. You shouldn't make 5 posts on the same thread to ask something THAT'S ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED. On other forums I frequent, that's a bannable offense - if you haven't searched, your posts get deleted. And I know that this guy didn't search because he spent A WEEK begging for answers that were even one or two screens back on the thread. If he did read the thread, he reads worse than most of the elementary school kids I tutor. Though then again, I don't know how old he is. He COULD actually be in elementary school.

Guest netbeui Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 Does the latest version work for anyone on an HTC S620? The S620 is the same hardware as a t-mobile dash. When I try to run the latest version on my S620 it loads the roms then crashes back to my file explorer. v.0007 works fine.
Guest dijital Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 I doubt cave games will ever be emulated, final burn uses the cyclone motorola 68k cpu emulator core, this core is STUPIDLY fasy ( hence the reason we can play final burn on ppc and smartphone), as far as i can tell the cave hardware does'nt use a motorola cpu, so unless we find a cpu emulator for cave hardware that is as fast as the cyclone 68k emulator ( HIGHLY doubtful ) this will never happen at over 5-8 fps maybe less.

Not so according to System16.com. Both Cave 1st generation and SNK Neo Geo games so many are currently enjoying share the same 68000 core. Are you thinking of a Cave 3rd generation maybe? If anything the screen rotation needed to run these games could kill it for us landscape smartphone owners. Right now I think the Sony PSP is best suited for this type of emulation. Not to start any device wars but that screen really does wonders for some of these long vertical shooters.

You must forgive me gushing over it as I just stumbled on it last week thanks to the excellent Menneisyys (that's a mouthful) primer. I just can't believe I'm running CPS2 games at clips faster than SNES titles WITH sound. I also agree with PolloLoco: that's why there's a forum search. Only if you're absolutely stumped should you rehash a question cuz it makes the thread bloated, and I did a quick search and the info my man wanted was easily available beforehand. But back to FinalBurnCE (yup, pushing for a rename  ) and CAVE emulation. My initially bringing up CAVE was because Menneisyys had sated so, and honestly I don't see why not. Dimahoo is a CPS2 title much in the same vein as CAVE titles and it runs flawlessly on FinalBurnCE. Plus as mikeeey says, all CAVE titles run flawlessly on MAME so it should be possible. Plus on System16 you see that 1st gen CAVE and Neogeo games for the most part share the same core. Either way I have my fingers crossed.
Guest nothin Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 (edited) ok, superb, but do you know what possibilities in PPC mame emulation are? 64kbit roms or so? pfff... Edited May 23, 2007 by nothin

Slightly awkward at first I know. While you can change the screen orientation to play it the with the controls on the side the screen is too small though and really, these games so good when it takes control of the whole screen. Not perfect I agree, but you can get used to it.
Guest akuma7703 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Okay, figured out my problem: wrong crc's in rom files. Think I need a universal bios for neo-geo emulation. Does any exist for FinalBurn CE? I heard you cannot use the regular desktop bios files.
Guest akuma7703 Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 Hey Fresko, figured out the solution: don't ask me why, but download the roms from the MAME section (NOT theNeoGeo section) of CoolROM (google it). Those work perfectly on FinalBurnCE. Happy, happy day...
