I think the only limitation is the phone's memory. Considering that the M3100 has double that of the C600 (128mb vs 64mb) that should not be a problem. Theoretically (I'm probably completely wrong here but wth! :)), saying that a text requires 512b when stored (time, sender, data etc) and about 50mb available internal memory on the M3100 you should be able to store ~100 000 texts.
