Hi all,

I've recently got myself a qtek 8500 and ditched my mpx220!

However, I've ran into a lot of both trying to configure MMS and GPRS to work on it properly...

These are the settings I've got so far..

For the NET/GPRS

Settings > Connections > GPRS > Vodafone

Connects To: The Internet

Access Point: internet

Username: web

Password: web

Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0

Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0

IP Address: 212.183.137.012

That all seems to work fine... the tricky part is the actual MMS settings...

Here's what I've got so far..

Settings > Connections > GPRS > Vodafone MMS

Connects To: Secure Wap Network

Access Point: wap.vodafone.co.uk

Username: wap

Password: wap

Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0

Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0

IP Address: 212.183.137.012

And Messaging > MMS > Options > Account Options > MMS > MMSC Settings > Vodafone MMS

MMSC URL: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms

WAP Gateway: 212.183.137.12

Port: 9201

Connect Via: Secure Wap Network

Max Sending Size: 100k

Wap Version: 1.2

Has anybody managed to get MMS working correctly on vodafone uk contract on this phone?

Appreciate any responses!

I have tried various times to get it to work but have given up (see my last thread on this!)

Sorry I cannot help but at least you don't feel so alone :)

Almost right Pembo. At least for my htc tytn, I have nearly the same as you except in the settings you list as Settings > Connections > GPRS > Vodafone MMS (any name will do actually, I think)

Access Point: wap.vodafone.co.uk

Username: wap

Password: wap

Primary DNS: Use Server assigned IP address

Secondary DNS: Use Server assigned IP address

IP Address: Use Server assigned IP address

In fact the TyTn just has tabs under the advanced settings button in a wizard tool. These are the TCP/IP and Servers tabs. This is where I select "Use Server assigned IP address"

Then for Messaging > MMS > Options > Account Options > MMS > MMSC Settings > Vodafone MMS

MMSC URL: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms

WAP Gateway: 212.183.137.12

Port: 9201

Connect Via: My ISP

Max Sending Size: 100k

Wap Version: 1.2

In the root of the Connections settings, where you edit or create connections, I select Auto Pick. Presumably, the phone works out which GPRS connection to pick up, depending on what I have to send/receive. I haven't experimented though because Bingo! it works for me...
