Guest p2daz Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 Yup. The C500 appears under "mobile devices", but the M3100 doesn't appear in either "mobile devices" or "portable devices", and doesn't even invoke an entry with an exclamation anywhere. Exactly the same here. Sorry to make this thread more a vista issue than smartphone...but...i just received an email from Lexmark support following my request for information for Vista drivers for a 2 week old printer that i couldn't install, their reply was '"The drivers for Windows Vista are currently not available. I apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused to you. At this time, we do not have any specific dates for driver availability. Please check our website periodically over the next few months to check the status of Windows Vista drivers for your product." Which probably means a long wait for drivers not just for my printer but numerous other peripherals too. My Laptop purchased a few weeks before christmas proudly displays the fact that it is 'Vista Capable', but i had numerous 'Unkown Devices' in device manager..... I seem to remember the same sort of issues with Xp initially too but they got ironed out - eventually.
Guest Suizid Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Just a heads up - used my belkin bluetooth dongle (after giving up on getting the Mac Pro's internal bluetooth working) and sync centre now works perfectly.
Guest stargate Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 I have the same problem with my Orange SPV C600. The phone connects just fine to the computer, I can browse files and all, but I can't use the PC's internet. In Windows Mobile Device Center I only get "Device Connected". There are no options similar to these - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/_as...C/WMDC-Home.jpg . This what I get: http://193.93.142.95:90/mobileshare/share/...ate/vistawm.jpg
Guest p2daz Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Right, sorry to drag this up again....but.... I have re-installed Vista once again, this time the sp5 is recognized in device manager under portable devices as 'windows mobile device' although can i hell as hell get WMDC to run! It starts to run but crashes, i have re-installed and still no joy. Very frustrating...
Guest iainp999 Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Hi Guys, I had exactly the same problem, but fixed it by installing the latest WMDC from :- http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx Even got that nice GUI! ;) HTH Iain
Guest p2daz Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Eventually got my phone to synch flawlessly with Vista - i sold the sp5 and bought a Nokia N80 - perfect - goodbye WM5 ;)
