Guest ddieter Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 In the last little while, my C500 has only been vibrating every once in a while, even though it is set to vibrate and ring on each phone call or text message. On average it vibrates probably 1 out of 10 times. I've obviously performed a soft reset, with no luck. Does this sound like a mechanic or software problem? I'm wondering if its software, as if it was mechanical, I would have expected to stop completely, rather than vibrate every once in a while. I'm assuming I should try a hard reset?
Guest meckanix Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 I have excatly the same issue. So far I've narrowed it down to the phone will vibrate, but only when virtical. If it's not extacly virtical, then it doesn't vibrate ;)
Guest meckanix Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 I've just ordered a set of screwdrivers to see if there's any internal issues in the phone. I susspect that the motor's got some dirt stopping it or it needs to be reseated ;)
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 If the vibrate motor is similar to other devices it connects to the mainboard by using sprung connectors so it's possible these have become less sprung and so giving a gap between the motor and board.
