Were you using headphones to listen to music etc. ? There seems to be a common problem with the headphone socket getting 'stuck'. Make the Uni think there is headphones plugged in. It's real pain in the ar** but I managed to get mine working again after pushin' the jack in and out a couple of times. Easy way to find out if this is the case is to try the with the headphones.
