Guest foxygrandpa Posted March 25, 2007 Report Share Posted March 25, 2007 Hi I have a old Toshiba satellite 4030 cdt laptop running windows xp home edtion(version 2002) with service pack 1.It has a celeron proccessor.Anyway im tryin to install active sync 4.5(need the newest one cause i have a wm6 8125) and it gets about have way through then says : "Error.There is a problem with this windows installer package.A DLL required for install to complete could not be run.Contact your support personnel or package vendor" Does any one no witch dll i need or wat i need to do?thanx in advanced Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If ActiveSync does not complete when you attempt to install it, this may be caused by a program that has replaced the MAPI32.DLL file on your PC. You can use C:\Windows\System32\FIXMAPI.EXE (Windows 2000, XP and Server 2003) to resolve the problem. I WAS GETTING THE EXACT SAME ERROR MESSAGE.
