How to download a video file to smartphone?

:rolleyes: I have been trying to download a video file ( .avi, .wmv, mpg, etc ) into my smartphone dash without any success. The file downloads as a text file with all kind of weird characters or gives an error. I have try streaming media, downloads and nothing happens. The files play fine in my phone, playing them locally. Is there any way to do what I want, any real effective download managers for smartphones? Any new supports for flash video? please help, thank you

This maybe because y use a text editor like app to open the download media file?

try to open those files use a media player

Actually it's PIE. It does a poor job of handling downloads. On the surrealnetworks site arossi linked to there is a cab that improves PIE downloading. Its on the SDA appliation page, and its called PocketIE Download plugin. It should help.

Use keepvid! It supports downloading on phone. Btw, if you want to download videos in batches for saving time, you can try this one: http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/keepvid-alternative.html

But you need to copy the videos to your phone.
