Guest chernalex Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 Dear All, I am going to buy VOX soon, can you describe briefly how web browsing is organized - i.e. is scrolling pages, choosing links etc. easy to perform comparing to phones with touchscreens? How to choose a certain link on a webpage - should I go through a number of links preceding the one I need? The question arose as I just didn't use a smartphone without a touchscreen... Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot browsing on a Smartphone is a little different than a PPC as the touchscreen does make navigating around a page a lot easier. The smartphone will rely on the directional pad moving around the available links on a page. sometimes the layout is a little confusing but no more so than a PPC. some sites work better in a single column based view whereas some dont. overall the browsing capabailities of the Vox are fine - it will take a while for you to become accustomed to the non-touchscreen approach but i have yet to find a big limitation.
Guest Bakafrog Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 i find the browsing fine using the directional pad. The dedicated back button is very useful. obviously a scroll wheel would have been ideal.

Thanks a lot it's pretty straightforward if you've used a wm5-based browser with buttons only . i particularly recommend opera mobile - it's way better than thunderhawk, opera mini or the built-in IEM Edited June 3, 2007 by Menneisyys
