hello All,

First post on here ...so please be gentle with me!!

Just got my hands on a Orange E650 - what a superb device, I have come from the Blackberry world and what a superb device/OS this thing is.

I am using Activesync to sync with my companies Exchnage Server via GPRS which works just fine. When I'm on the road it works and I am very happy with it.

Because I am cost conscious, I want the device to use my Wireless Broadband connection when I am working at home - like today for example so want to know how to make sure the device has flipped over and is using the WIFI. I have turned the WIFI on and can see the phone is logged on to the access point/router but how can I be sure that it using wifi rather than GPRS for it's updates

Man Thanks for any help you can offer

Hi (my first post as well)

When the aerial icon shows to the left of the battery level indicator, you've connected. As long as no G or E appears just above the signal strength indicator, you can be sure that you're definately using wi-fi not GPRS or EDGE.

Cheers

If you have a good WiFi connection the device will always use this as a priority over GPRS/Edge only reverting to the latter if the WiFi connection drops
