Great program!

A few requests:

Could you integrate SMS sending functions with the internal address book?

Could you hijack the new option in inbox, and make it run Orneta instead, in a mode where the left soft key is send? (That'd be v clever!)

It was being a bit weird for me when I went in and out of menus, turning t9 off and going back to multitap?

I could imagine this becoming a great replacement for the lousy and overly large font'ed SMS / Mail composer!

thanks for the ongoing good work!

These are just some ideas i would like to see, others may disagree, i don't know, i use the app quite a bit, and they would make it more pleasurable for myself when using it.

But hey, what the hell do i know ?

sorry that we cannot implement all ideas at once, but today, in version 1.15, comes new feature:

- when you re-open some lately edited/viewed file through "Recent" menu, then it opens and scrolls down to the position, where cursor was last time you closed this file! In this way you can use the Notepad as a reader - it will remember your current reading position.

to download Orneta Notepad 1.15 click here

your feedback is very important to Orneta team and if you have some feedback about quality we would be also very interested: it is extremely important for us to keep and increase quality of our software.

And don't worry: Orneta Notepad will remain free for ever, even if we will sign it - we are going to keep a pool of free applications, apart from our upcoming commercial applications.

Good work

This app and some other upcoming freeware apps from Orneta are just side-effect of our main development of upcoming commercial apps.

It will never end...

Is there a maximum file size that it can handle correctly?

I say this because I downloaded an eBook (War of the Worlds) and converted it to text (by copy pasting from acrobat reader - I'm sure there must be an easier way) The resulting file was 332K

Then I tried reading this in OrnetoNotepad V1.14 and fine up until about page 27 (of 104) then after that nothing displayed, and scrolling up and down both seemed to make it scroll down.

When I Tried to search for a page number later in the document the number appears, but no text. Again Srolling up and down just makes the page scroll down from the number.

I guess this is because the file I was trying to open was too big maybe??

Just been discussing the possibility of quickly changing the T9 input language and thought it would be a fabulous feature for Orneta notepad... what do you think? See the Changing T9 input language thread for details: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=35837

using registry editor, if you go to hkey_current_user then press values, you get a whole load of Orneta notepad entries. Does anyone else have these?

Can you not change the app so it writes the values under a more appropriate key?

we will correct it, but we are very busy with development of other programs for MS Smartphone so we cannot promise any specific time.

I love your notepad program! And I'm really looking forward to other programs you are working on!

I do however have one tiny suggestion. When I save a file, it doesn't automatically save as a .txt file. I know I'm just a lazy bum, seing you can just type it in. But it would be nice if it did it automatically!

I've set up all txt files to be opened by Orneta automatically when pressed, but of course this only works, if I've saved the file with .txt extension.

To download it click here here as usual.

CHANGES IN DOWNLOADING! SETUP PROGRAM FOR PC ADDED.

Orneta Notepad is now available for download only through Handango from here, not from our web site.

Now Orneta Notepad is available there as OrnetaNotepad_setup.exe - a setup application for PC - so installation is easy now.

We write, at the Handango, the license type "Shareware Registration" so that in case somebody would like to get e-mail support or if somebody would like to have more influence on new features of Orneta programs for Smartphone, then it is possible to buy this program (for $2.44 = £1.63).

If you want to use this program as freeware (without e-mail support and without influence on future Orneta software) then go to its location at Handango here and just click on "Trial" button - all features are supported in trial version. If you want to buy it then click on "Add to Cart" button.

WARNING: this program is not signed (it runs only in unlocked smartphones), but if you buy it now you will get signed version for free. We expect to have this program signed at latest by the end of May 2003.

Good plan - It should get more widely used if its listed on handango, and considering what a quality application it is I think deserves to become as widespread as possible ;)

If we will see download counter at Handango growing, even without actual buying, we will extend Notepad even more. Anyway, coming soon (maybe yet in May 2003): more FASCINATING features in notepad (all free) and it will be signed soon (Handango sponsored our signing application at GeoTrust - Handango paid it) so it will run in locked phones too.

I have a similar problem, had an rtf file which I converted to txt and then read in Notepad. Is fine until approx page 25 after which it just shows blank. Anyone know what the maximum file size is? If I knew this, I could split my file into a few smaller files.
