Outlook and activesync

Just recently got my Vario II (htc hermes) I have installed WM6 v4.0. and have Activesync 4.5, which synchronizes perfectly. However when i go into outlook (Office pro) none of my contacts are there. I have ticked the contacts box in the activesync options. I simply want to be able to see and edit my contacts from my phone. (i have copied them from the sim to the phone).

Also which device has priority say if i add 2 contacts on the phone and add 2 on the pc, or will it just compare and add the four contacts?

Have just discovered that on my phone when i open activesync the contacts option is greyed out.
