is it true, that it is not possible to synchronize "notes" with outlook? this does even work with sony ericsson smartphones (p910, p990, m600 and so on) and they are obviously not from microsoft. i thought the sync tool from microsoft was much better the the tool from sony ericsson (which would not be to difficult).

i wanted the kaiser to be my first wm smartphone (after i always used sony ericsson), but i use notes a lot, so i could not live without them...

This should work, but for some reason it's not at the moment on my setup :)

Paul...do you know what is the bundled software that come together with the Kaiser when it will be released sooner or later

On the device or in the box?

In the box it'll be ActiveSync / WMDC and Outlook 2007 demo I imagine, and on the device it'll be the usual HTC bits and bobs plus the Worldcard Mobile business card reader.

It is black in the current build, with the same backgrounds available as on the Touch, I use the 'Argyle' one :)

Here's a screenshot of my homescreen as it is right now!

Also didn't work on the Toshiba G900 that I briefly tried. I've been monitoring the Expansys G900 forum and there are many reports of Notes not syncing. I suspect that it's a WM6/ActiveSync issue (Did Microsoft "forget" ;) to put it in WM6 Pro???). Let's hope HTC is monitoring this forum (and Toshiba is monitoring the Expansys forum) and is checking this out with Microsoft. A new version of ActiveSync should appear shortly, don't you think?

I've preordered the Kaiser and hope that the Notes thing works by the release date. I've also contacted PhatNotes and was told that they are planning to release a WM6 version in the near future. Notes are a very important feature for me (use it several times a day on my WM5 IPAQ hx4705), but I'm still wowed by the Kaiser and WANT IT no matter what! :P

I might roll back to WMDC 6.0 and see if it fixes it... I really need my notes too!

I'm also one of the many people, who look forward to the Kaiser, even though I'm originally a Nokia fan, the WM6 (Apps and Home/Today Screens especially) is getting more and more interesting. So if I'm to get a WM6 mobile it has to be the best of the best hardware wise.

Anyway, regarding the notes sync problem, I also think its an Active Sync problem, however has anyone tried syncing a WM6 mobile to Office/Outlook 2003. I'm pretty sure thats where the problem lies, and if people can just use Office 2003 for at few days/month untill M$ make it work, everyones happy. I mean Office 2007 is all eye candy, just like Vista (Yes I run both Vista and Office 2007, but there is no must have features in the new versions, IMHO).

I am using Outlook (Office) 2003. Not having the Kaiser, I can't speak to it. BUT, Note syncing did NOT work on the Toshiba G900 using Outlook 2003. And Paul stated earlier that syncing was not working with Outlook 2007 on the Kaiser. Since syncing DOES work on my WM5 device, it looks like an issue between WM6 and ActiveSync. I'm guessing AS is the issue (it's been flakey since the earliest PocketPC days; I've used all the PPC OS's) and that MS will offer an AS update as more WM6 users complain about the sync issue. For me, I'll figure out some primitive workaround when I get the Kaiser till a working AS or PhatNotes arrives. I've done that many times before :) with PPC/WM. Glutton for punishment, I guess.

Hmmm, just tried WMDC 6.0 and that's not working either. Weirdness :)

Paul,

Seeing how you have used the Kaiser for the last few weeks for phone, GPS, music, games, video, etc., how has the battery life been? Thanks!

Very good! I can't really give you specific figures, but IMHO it's noticeably better than my HTC Trinity!

Greetings. I'm seriously considering this phone.

My questions are... Any chance of this being released for T-Mobile in the US?

Also when does T-Mobile if @ all plan on launching their 3G Network in the US?

I'd rather not goto AT&T, due to the fact that they charge for every little feature their greedy little hearts desire..

Hi Paul how does your trinity compare with the tytn or the kaiser?

i'm seriously considering getting one of these when my contract ends as i dont need a slide out keyboard now that i've discovered happy tapping keyboard!.

apart from sdhc capability the trinity is perfect fo me!, dont suppose your planning on getting rid of your Trinity any time soon???? ................. bare faced cheek mode on!!!

worth a try eh!

Or perhaps MS are just pushing people more towards using One Note instead of the notes in outlook.

OneNote looks BIG!!! The tutorial looks daunting :) . What's the software like? And does IT sync with WM6?

I now have the production handset with the rubber back. Doesn't look as nice I suppose, but far more practical!

P

Does this mean its very close to being released?

Cant wait any longer :)

My Trinity currently has a cracked screen :)

The increased memory is a bonus from the Trinity, but that aside, they are very similar... the Trinity is a great device.

paul,

i got 2 questions.

how much better is the loud speaker quality and loudness compared to that of a sp5m?

and is taking upclose pictures with the AF better than the 8525's macro mode?
