Guest kathryncheng Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 With regards to the preorder, things are progressing as planned... things will get a lot easier and faster moving once HTC announce the device Thursday :P P i cant wait... coughing hard as well.... thursday.. i will be on the lookout... actually you did crossed my mind yesterday i was there at norwich at rivergate and chapelfield mall.. and i could have seen even just a glimpse of the kaiser from you... but.. hey ho.. patience.... is a virtue......................that i havent got until now..... :)
Guest Y@nn Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 youpieeeeeeeee! can't wait thursday ;-) Paul you saved my day! and probably some others ahahhahahaha
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Funny, I was in Norwich yesterday... could quite possibly have been spotted using the Kaiser :) P
Guest Budy Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 But I don't WANA wait till Thursday!!! :) Oh well, guess if I've waited this long I can hold out a little longer. Do we have any idea what the time frame is from device announcement to device availability will be?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 I still anticipate an early September release (first week ish)... P
Guest GordonTGopher Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 But I don't WANA wait till Thursday!!! :) But it's only two sleeps till Thursday, that's not too long! :P Gordon
Guest Re-D Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 (edited) I think we know the most probably release date for 1 week now, the question is that HTC will choose the Tytn II name or the Kaiser. In terms of PR they will choose the Tytn II, but IMO the name Kaiser is well know now. *doh, another month to wait for the device.... but finally that WILL be the final release date, but i think HTC have to produce large numbers of the device... :) Edited August 7, 2007 by Re-D
Guest A Shiny Demon Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Well, at least they (HTC) are finally going to acknowledge its existence. I'm afraid that it will be a while until we see it (legally) in the States though. I definitely can't afford it unless I get a discount from renewing a 2-year contract with AT&T, so I desperately need this thing to get over here legitly.
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 HTC definitely won't use the Kaiser name, that's just the codename. P
Guest Special2k3 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Hey Paul. are you "only" working on a US preorder deal with the US Kaiser? (Qwerty) Or is there also a chance that we can order a EU (qwertz) Kaiser with the modaco preorder deal? Â Special2k3
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Bearing in mind i'm in the UK, my first arrangement will be a UK deal, although as it's with Expansys, we can potentially expand to other Expansys territories. P
Guest Re-D Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 HTC definitely won't use the Kaiser name, that's just the codename. ah, ok then. Tehn, i think, we know everything now. We only need an official confirm. :)
Guest Andy_S Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 I have just got a word, that !! TyTN II WILL HAVE FULL TouchFLO !! Pre-production samples doesn't have that - only today plugin, but final version WILL HAVE IT! And whats the most beautiful thing - it will be better than in "Touch" ! It means Rotating cube and not only that classical in touch :) I'll bring more info in few hours, maybe tomorow. SOURCE (if you can read Czech :P )
Guest Special2k3 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Bearing in mind i'm in the UK, my first arrangement will be a UK deal, although as it's with Expansys, we can potentially expand to other Expansys territories. P Ok, sorry. I thought UK and wrote US. So i hope the expansys deal will also be possible in germany. Â Special2k3
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Er, Andy_s, what do you mean? My Kaiser has TouchFlo... I can put my finger on the screen and scroll up and down in contacts, email etc...? P
Guest Andy_S Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 (edited) i'm not sure, what he means, but as i understand him, there will be some rotating cube with shortcuts for apps and probably it will have also HW modified touchscreen. As i said - more info in few hours or tomorow (when they release that article... ) Edited August 7, 2007 by Andy_S
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 I really hope the DON'T put the Touch screen on the Kaiser! It'd ruin it! P
Guest Andy_S Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 I really hope the DON'T put the Touch screen on the Kaiser! It'd ruin it! Well, maybe they keep LCD part and change only touch sensitive part. Who knows...
Guest Harry3GTech Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 I think the answer you are looking for is in the first post, both HSDPA and HSUPA are supported. By the way, almost 2 years until you make your first post? I hope Paul wasn't going to make you wait so long for an answer. :) Dear Shaflie, I usually follow interesting threads concerning new handsets. The rest of my time, I am making sure all your GSM/UMTS based toys have a good network to use (15 networks, worldwide, "optimised" by me so far) I have very limited comments to offer since I am more focused in the network side than the actual user plane. I must say though that it is an excellent thread. Kudos Paul!!
Guest Harry3GTech Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Actually, HSUPA is missing off most of the spec list... I wonder if the hardware supports it, but the software doesn't yet perhaps? P HSUPA is configured on the chipset used for the communication to the 3G (UMTS) network. The software that utilises this functionality is part of the chipset programming code. Basically HSUPA allows you to use data upload speeds in excess of 1.8 Mps (provided that the network has the HSUPA functionality) This feature is absolutely neccessary if one wants excellent quality in video calls.
Guest Fasten Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 (edited) Paul, thanks for the viewlet of the interface... On the touchflo you read contradictionary rumours: http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index....kaiser_rebrands (Focus on the last bullet) Edited August 7, 2007 by Fasten
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 That's not contradictory, it's what i've been saying all along. Aspects of the TouchFlo interface, with a standard type of screen. P
