Guest renico00 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 I'm gonna go nuts if this thing doesn't come out soon. The months of waiting have been torture!!!!!!!!!
Guest Phil_UK Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 (edited) Hi I really hope the DON'T put the Touch screen on the Kaiser! It'd ruin it! Same here, I don't want a gimmicky interface, if I did I'd buy an iPhone or the HTC Touch. As it stands the touch screen isn't flush and this would make the "flow" part of it rather difficult I would imagine, and I can't see a complete hardware redesign suddenly surfacing now to change that. So I can't see this having all the TouchFlo features of the HTC Touch. Regards Phil Edited August 7, 2007 by Phil_UK
Guest deadeyed Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Paul, thanks for the viewlet of the interface... On the touchflo you read contradictionary rumours: http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index....kaiser_rebrands (Focus on the last bullet) I think the interesting point would the 2nd last bullet: "160 grams", which is much better than 190 something...
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Again, this is weird, I can't see how they would have cut 30g from the weight? Oh, btw, i'm now hearing the launch may NOT happen Thursday! Dammit! P
Guest xricex Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 lol how come they dont just announce it?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 I dunno, it's THE worst kept secret ever tho innit :) P
Guest xricex Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 lol we should just get millions just to spam their emails to announce the device WE KNOW IT EXISTS!!
Guest Budy Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 lol we should just get millions just to spam their emails to announce the device WE KNOW IT EXISTS!! It actually doesn't exist, Paul and HTC are in kahoots and just playing with us :)

P Man, this going to be the never ending story... 27th of august is my birthday, it would be the best birthday present (ok, give or take a week, but certainly not a month)

Guest mikeeey Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 Paul, do you know if the Qualcomm issue is over yet? is that why you heard at first it could have been Thursday? or is the whole Qualcomm thing the reason why it might not be thursday?
Guest clarkster Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 Hi Paul, Just wondering what the options under the Comm Manager are?? (xda-developers says there might be 10 items there). Thanks

Either that or the delayed ROM update - they could still be ironing out glitches
Guest Kchrpm Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 AFAIK the Qualcomm/Broadcom thing will have no effect outside of the US, so I doubt that would have anything to do with delaying the announcement of the unlocked model.
Guest wilmah Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 Paul...thanks for the video of the home screen....i'm getting more and more excited with the kaiser....one question...in the home screen under the sound tabs....i saw there's a option of sound: automatic...can i know what is that function for...is that some sort of schedule for changing the sound like from silent to normal...??.... :) William
Guest Y@nn Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 7th of september is mine.... Anyway I already ordered the 4 GB SDHC available in Switzerland for about 80 CHF, it means about 50 Euros... Just waiting for the main part.....THE KAISER!!!! aka THE TYTN II AKA The P4550
Guest Manni01 Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 (edited) Hi there, As this is my first post, I'd like to say hello and thanks to Paul and everyone for this massive thread! :) I came accross some info about the Qualcomm 7200 CPU in the Kaiser http://www.cdmatech.com/products/msm7200_c...et_solution.jsp which may answer some of the questions here, especially if the GPS is SirfIII (it's unlikely as the 7200 has its own integrated GpsOne chip) or if it has a USB host function (unfortunately it looks like it doesn't, only the 7500 & 7600 in the 7x00 family seem to come with OTG USB). You can follow a link on that page to get more info about the integrated GPS http://www.cdmatech.com/products/gpsone.jsp or ask to compare up to three processors http://www.cdmatech.com/docs_details/chip_tool/index.jsp. Hope this helps... Edited August 8, 2007 by Manni01

That's strange, they put USBOTG in block diagram for the 7200 chipset (check the last page of the datasheet) but then don't list it as a feature. I wonder if it was going to be an option at one stage but had to be pulled for some reason?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 Automatic mode is just to switch to vibrate when you are marked as busy in your calendar. Guest lozzd Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 That's pretty awesome, my SE S700i used to do that. I wouldn't use it anymore but its useful if you're at school/college/uni, no need to worry about putting your phone on silent!

I wonder if it was going to be an option at one stage but had to be pulled for some reason? It may be implemented in the processor and then enabled/disabled depending on the package. It may make more economical sense from a production point of view to produce the same processor and enable/disable some minor functions rather than having to maintain a line of different processors. They are very similar processors anyway, it's mainly the comms options (and unfortunately USB OTG) that seem to differenciate them... Edited August 8, 2007 by Manni01
Guest jebiwan Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 Ok, here's my contribution to de Kaiser minivids. Hope you like it. Or at least laugth at it. :) I'm going to buy my first WM phone and, of course it will be the Kaiser, but, if I wouldn't mind having the slidding keyboard. What do you think about the forecomer Eten X800? Do you think that the VGA screen will drain de battery too fast? Thank you in advance, and very very good work with this site, Paul. http://fuzzwich.com/minivid/minividLoader.swf?pid=622c2fbae4e642822d73860b60efd573'>http://fuzzwich.com/minivid/minividLoader.swf?pid=622c2fbae4e642822d73860b60efd573' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='400' height='327'>
Guest shaun1208 Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 Hi everyone!!! Paul, what I wanted to know was what kind of kaiser deal are you negotiating with Expansys and also is it a definate that the kaiser will support micro sdhc cards. Thanks in advance Shaun
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 The deal with Expansys will be a free copy of 'MoDaCo CamerAware P4550 Edition' (or whatever the device ends up being called!) and a free year subscription to 'MoDaCo Ad Free' (so you can come and talk about your new toy!)... i'm trying to line up other stuff too :) Re: SDHC - back read - my SanDisk 4GB microSDHC card should be here today. P
Guest shaun1208 Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 Thanks for the quick answer, hopefully your 4gb card will work. Do you reckon £500 is a bit steep to spend on an item that'll be primarily used for uni and general phone use? As it'll be my 1st WM phone I'm not entirely sure about what the limitations are and what other uses there are available to me, but my god, it doesn't half look good.
