Guest mcq3000 Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 hey paul question about latest HTC Kaiser OS, what voice recognition software for dialing comes with it? Is it Voice Speed Dial or Voice Commander?
Guest Hari Ramani Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 The MDA Vario III WILL have Outlook and Office Mobile. P Thanks for the reply Paul... I am not looking to get the phone from the carrier... Would Outlook or Office be available on the unlocked instrument? If not... would that mean we cannot view/edit office docs / pdfs?
Guest jim.mason Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Thanks for the reply Paul... I am not looking to get the phone from the carrier... This type of software is core to the operating system and being Microsoft it would be suicidal to not include their own products :) Rest assured that you will be able to everything MS related on branded/unbranded phones. Cheers Jim
Guest Boudewijn_ Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Paul, why the TyTN II name is not anymore in the title of this topic?

Cheers Jim I would suppose so.. but nowhere on web does office mobile feature in the spec list. Direct Mail is part of the list though. The GCF certification talks abt the feature to edit docs.. but does that mean it has the full mobile office suite? Could someone get some confirmation on this?
Guest mjaaron Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Thanks for the reply Paul... I am not looking to get the phone from the carrier... Would Outlook or Office be available on the unlocked instrument? If not... would that mean we cannot view/edit office docs / pdfs? When I posted that link to Microsoft, I was not suggesting these features wouldn't be present on the device. I was purely pointing out how useless Microsoft are at posting accurate information. There is no question that all those features will be included in all variants of the Kaiser. Apologies if it caused any confusion...
Guest kathryncheng Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 No, Pocket PCs don't do that any more... that was eradicated with the advent of persistent storage in WM5. P Thank you very much for your replies Paul... nothing is happening yet on the webistes and the alleged release date which is today though...iam patiently waiting..... hope things will change later on.. please let there be a release today...
Guest badbandit Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 WiFi is still disconnected when device is in standby. this is driving me nuts on my se p990. why the heck are connections disconnected automatically? on the p990 EVERY connection (wifi/umts/gprs) is disconnected automatically, self, if one sets the timeout to never. is this also normal for wm6 phones?
Guest Re-D Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 uhm Paul, what's about Skype? So it works well with no lag on Kaiser?
Guest Shuflie Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 What I'd like to know is how well the radio stands up to losing 3G signal when a data session is open. i.e. if the phone is set to receive push email all day do you find that calls go missing without any notification and will you be able to make a call without resetting the phone or restarting the radio?
Guest gregersdk Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 So, no exciting news today it seems... Bugger! And I so hoping for a release date... Even in a danish WM forum, some members are summing for this phone. I have had to answer 3 topics that were really the same! Oh, btw. Paul if you could do me a BIG favour and test the free version of Smart2go on the Kaiser, I would really appreciate it. And how is this Kaiser doing with media? I'm especially thinking video. Does it lag alot? Is the screen big enough? Is it possible to read subtitles? Thank you in advance gregersdk
Guest Kchrpm Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Another request for Paul: Can you check www.finetune.com/wii for compatibility?
Guest gregersdk Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Another request for Paul: Can you check www.finetune.com/wii for compatibility? That's seems pretty cool, but as far I can tell, it is just a browser-based player. So that should be working, right?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 8th September is still my guess for actual availability. I expected a web launch today, but nothing yet :) That finetune site seems to be flash, which won't work no? P

Guest Kchrpm Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 But it's not Flash video, more like a slideshow with sound. I've had simpler Flash like that work on my Axim, except not as memory-hoggy.
Guest 2tall2function Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 First post here, but I got some news from the US. HTC Tilt hits AT&T stores September 3rd for $499 with 2-year plan. http://crunchgear.com/2007/08/09/breaking-...ch-date-leaked/ or www.gizmodo.com
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Heh, so SOMETHING happened...? Posting in news... :) P

Why not sprint or T-Mobile? :)
Guest clarkster Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Hi Paul, Have you got the delayed ROM update yet?? Thanks
Guest Chrome Blade Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Sweet September 3rd and only $500, I was expecting at least $600. Now if only there was a way to cancel my verzion plan early... But this brings up my first question, should I get the at&t branded phone or the HTC branded or is there no different besides at&t phone being locked cuz I can get that unlocked. I ask this because verzion cripple there phones like no tomorrow and I wasn't sure how at&t handle that.
Guest AwJm Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Cool , can get mine Oct :) Paul, how does one become a mobile tester to get the phone pre realse ? just curious
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 nooooooooooooooooooo!! Why not sprint or T-Mobile? :) Because T-Mo don't have a 3G network, and Sprint don't have a GSM network at all :P P
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 No... either it's not been made available or my super-duper-top-secret-source is slacking :) P Hi Paul, Have you got the delayed ROM update yet?? Thanks
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 AT&T's version won't have the sexy plugin... and will be available with and without cameras. No confirmation yet on whether the camera'd version includes the front camera this time (unlike the 8525), but now they've launched their 'not quite video calling' 'Video Sharing' service, I imagine it will!
