Just tested my A2DP headphones with the Kaiser (Motorola HT820) and I have to say that, although the sound is still a bit tinny for my liking, it's the best A2DP experience i've had to date!

Get this, I could leave my phone in the extension and walk all the way out the other side of the house before the signal broke up! Wow! I'm sure the Hermes used to break up when the phone was in my pocket :)

P

That is good news, I don't know if you remember but the A2DP on the TyTN was bloody shocking and one of my major gripes with the unit.

yes....lol

Hmmm thats what i was thinking :) :P

If its gonna be available from the 3rd of September from AT&T surely an unbranded version would be released sooner from HTC themselves?

My headphones (also can be used to take / make calls):

Now when we are talking about headsets... The standard wired headset, how is the sound quality? My Nokia's headset were right to the trashcan (where they did go eventually), and I haven't heard much good of HTC's.

Are there any buttons as well? I'm thinking star music/pause take call and so on...

The HTC bundled headset is bloody shocking, I wouldnt even bother. I use a Sony:

They're pretty good but as I was saying the A2DP implementation on the Hermes range of devices was bloody awful. I also have a set of Jabra BT602s which are ok if a little quiet for outdoor use.

Good A2DP support would be wicked. I used to have those headphones Paul - couldn't get on with them, too bulky. The motorola S9 ones look great, but not sure whether they sound any good or not!

I've got a pair of Gear4 bluephones if anyone's interested :)

I have been calling various online retailers regarding availability of this phone.... Except for Expansys... most them confirm (noncommittal ofcourse) it would be available before the end of this month (Scancom and Clove think it will be out next week).

Expansys said it "wouldn't" be available mid to late september.

Yeah, exactly!

The Motorola looks good, yeah. But I've heard they fit badly, since you can't regulate them at all.

And you shouldn't be able to have a conversation in noisy places.. People simply can't hear what you are saying.

Like the waterproofness though

I'm planning on getting a set of Sony DR-BT30Qs (retractable cord ftw) and trying to find out a way to route calls from/through my office phone so I don't have to deal with the old clunker anymore!

I'm also curious if the AVRCP ABC123DoReMi ( :) ) Bluetooth control works with WMP. I assume it does, but wanted to verify before I dropped the extra dosh...not that it would prevent me :P New job + new toys = still in debt!

Mine wasn't a final retail box, so I can't be sure what is going with the shipping units.

As soon as I get the Kaiser I'll buy myself a Jabra BT8010.. Mono headset, until you put on the other via cord, then it is stereo... And it has the ability to be connected to 2 devices at the same time, which meens I can use it for my PC as well...

AVRCP does work, I can skip backwards and forwards in WMP.

On a random note, I got a Toshiba G900 today, an interesting comparison to the Kaiser!

It basically allows you to skip tracks, play, pause etc. from your headset.
