Hi Paul,

I knew that the 4 GB Micro SDHC card is working fine with the Kaiser. But how about 8 GB Micro SDHC? :)

Thanks :P

I think youd have to find one first. AFAIK 8GB microSD(HC) cards aren't available yet.

But long as its mSDHC, the kaiser shouldn't have any issues with it. The hurdle is the 2->4GB jump to mSDHC. Long as it can do that it should be good to 32GB (eventually)

will it really?? damn that really sucks! i would imagine if someone was carring the device and keyboard around they would keep it in seperate pockets too.

i cant believe it would be that easy to erase a credit card.

It's a VERY strong magnet. When I was playing with one at CompUSA, it was kind of hard to pick it up off the metal counter. This isn't like the little ones you have on your fridge :)

Hi

i cant believe it would be that easy to erase a credit card.

Probably not an issue for most credit cards/cash cards now as the embedded chip is used in place of the magnetic strip in most countries, certainly true of the UK and most of Europe. Other cards you may have though could still be using the magnetic strip.

Not sure you would be allowed to take it on a plane officially!

Regards

Phil

not allowed to take the athena keyboard or the megnetic credit cards?

either one i would be mad to hear

"we cant allow you to bring your money with you"

or

"we will only let you bring half of your device" lol

Guys you're really making a mountain out of a mole-hill here. It's a magnet. It's not the end of the world....

Hello Paul, are you not tired answering question?

No, nice because I have another...

Is Skype working with the front camera, allowing video conference?like we can use a webcam?is that working well?does the correspand see all the surrounding?

would be really great ;-)

Have a nice we though and hope HTC will officially release it asap!

It's got nothing to do with the Kaiser, AFAIK Skype for PPC doesn't support a camera (front or back) yet. But it would indeed be great. I'm sure they are working on it...

SIPgate is a SIP provider, not an application.

On my Hermes (with a ROM prior to the recent production release), it came out the speakerphone. Yes it was integrated into the dialer, yes I do know (occasionally) what i'm talking about :)

P

Paul,

Again on the VoIP subject, how do you use VoIP on the device if WiFi gets turned off when the phone goes in standby?

Or did you manage to investigate those settings that are apparently available on some WM6 machines that would enable WiFi during standby, and GPRS fall-back?

Many thanks.

This is what caught my eye.

Infrared Port - Yes

Now that's interesting. I wonder if it's a misprint or AT&T will only have IR. Paul's model is being noted that it does not have IR. I know it's going out of style because of BlueTooth but it is convenient since there is no setup per se..just allow beaming...

Hi! I am new to the PDA world, and like many others, am eagerly awaiting this device. My question is, what are the advantages of buying an unlocked version, versus the branded, I am an at&t/cingular customer. If I purchased unbranded would I be able to use the GPS feature without paying at&t’s monthly service fees and would I be able to use the voice feature without the AT&T voice plan. And whatever other feature you guys may know about that at the moment I may have missed. Thanks in advance.

it caught my eye not for file transfering purposes, but to use as a remote control :)

that cant be right.. it uses micro. they dont mention micro anywhere, only mini. and if that is wrong, could it having IR also be wrong?

no doubt! they would totally be changing stuff compared to Paul's model... seems unrealistic at this point in time...

at the moment ive been hearing the AT&T version is supposed to come out on the 3rd of september. the UK version comes out before that, and the HTC version comes out even before that. so if the 3rd really was when the AT&T version is comming out i would expect the UK version and HTC version to come out in august?

EDIT:

ive noticed they all say september:

The September date is the only official one to be leaked, so that's what they're posting. People need to realize that pdadb is just like all these other sites posting guesses based on what they see on the web. They're not getting insider info, they're just aggregating everything that's being posted everywhere else.

I still think it's so funny how one guy asking a couple of AT&T store guys turns into "INSIDER SOURCES CONFIRM SEPT 3RD RELEASE DATE!" being posted on every tech news blog when for all we know the guys at the store just made it up. The blogosphere is a fickle mistress :)
