:) euuh.. can someone tell me the diffrence between an upcoming retail version european and uk?

(apart from the powerplug ofcourse :P )

I've got one in pre-order at Expansys, and been in contact with them today. They have two versions on the website. One version, witch has a expected deliverydate Sept. 6, and the other one is available for pre-order.

I was told that one is the UK version, and the other European. One is 10 euros cheaper than the other...

(151796 and 154149)

Does anyone know, or have a clue of, the diffrence? Of course it will be a guess, since neither have truly been released. But I want to get the right one, the first day it arrives.. And from what I am hearing from Expansys I am not getting much wiser.........

In my case with the QTEK it was only the mains charger. All the manuals and stuff were in several languages. The ActiveSync CD (which I don't think is supplied anymore??) was also in English.

There are loads of threads on xda devs and 4winmobile about this. The handset needs either 2 pins shorting together in the USB conenctor (4 and 5?) or to be able to detect a data signal to charge. This is why chargers for Motorola phones for example won't charge the handset unless it is actually switched on (meaning if the battery is completely dead and won't switch on, you can't charge your device!!!).

Very Strange - Tried the new lead that came with the phone, car on, phone on and nothing happened. I then turned the phone off and the charge light came on, then turned the phone on and the light went off for a few seconds and then reappeared :)

I have read somewhere in the early presentations of WM6, that there was an option created, that would let you choose what language you wanted, during initial use. Never found that option ever dough...

But all I can find out are these two versions, and not language versions... Is this a hint of this functionality above? One version for EU, with all diffrent languages?

If it is only the charger, than I am sure they will also send me a convertorplug for it...

The S110 was English only but that back in the WM2003SE days... I have WM6 on my Vario II and not seen anything user selectable. I know over on xda devs they have seperate images for each language. I've also tried official WM6 releases and wasn't prompted for any language settings.

I tried a cheap and nasty desktop cradle/charger a while ago which was like this i.e. only charged when off (when it worked at all!). I think the rubbish power adapter (a European one with UK adapter) couldn't supply enough current to charge and power the device propery.

Yup, only seen diffrent language versions fo far..

Must look where I have seen that way back when the first impressions of WM6 were printed.....

But what I thought must be wrong, because also spannish, french and german (and so on) are on expansys website...

When I find out more from expansys, I will be sure to tell you guys here first ;-)

Maybe someone with some more 'inside' information can tell us the diffrence? Because the countryversions all seem to have the Sept 6 date, and the general EU version is available for pre order only...

A little bird tells me that AT&T and HTC have both completed their software builds for the shipping devices! I should get both builds soon...

Any news on your Expansys/Modaco deal yet....?

Hmm with not even a HTC announcement yet, am I right in thinking that the Vario III is unlikely to be available on the 8th of Sept as suggested by Trustedreviews.com?

Perhaps T-mobile will just officially announce the Vario III on the 8th but won't have stock till later.

Also, I've asked this before but no-one answered, is there anyway to reserve new devices like this with T-mobile? Either over the phone or in store, as I'm worried about getting one of the first units as demand is likely to be high... :)

T-Mo: Unknown, but I suspect their release won't necessarily hinge on the HTC announcement.

Just noticed the P4550 RUU has the same pic, so I wouldn't read anything into the image above :)

Cool , can get mine Oct :P

Paul, how does one become a mobile tester to get the phone pre realse ? just curious

You pay lots of money :)

Sadly HTC aren't in the habit of letting me test devices for free! If they had, I probably wouldn't have been allowed to post about it...

I just realised the AT&T device is missing Windows Live, replaced by their own (inferior?) solution...

Can we infer from that, that you are currently loading the retail HTC ROM into your device with screenshots soon to follow?

Also, does the HTC build contain windows live?

As soon as it lands in my inbox, I shall :)

The HTC build does.

Hi,

I work for a bank in London, and for the corporate cell lines we've got to go through special contracts with O2...

I just called O2 to ask if they heard about a TyTn II or XDA Trion II...

She told me "no" and as it was not in their septembre list, it might then arrive during mild of septembre because normally they have infos about phones 15 to 30 days before they sell them with corporate contracts...

This is a bad news for me... I might have to take it without carrier... way more expensive... :)
