The o2 flame has the nvidia chipset as well, so it will beat most things with benchmarking (and to also lose it's power)

yes, but asus p735 or p535 with intel 520 also socres 2100 in the cpu index, so .......

i know the cpu speed is different,400 and 520, but just wondering can Kaiser handel the most application well? my Dopod 838 pro with samsung 400 shows some lag or delay during the applcation which irritates me many times.

Hint for searching the thread quickly: click Options, then Download This Topic. Pick one of the formats and it will show you the entire thread on one huge page

Never came across that option before so I gave it a go. It only saves up to last week of july threads for me ;)

Check out http://www.modaco.com/HTC-Kaiser-hands-rev...28024&st=20 - it lists the comparison between the 2.

Just spoken to T-mobile UK customer services and was told they don't have a confirmed release date for the Vario III yet but expect it to be in about a week, around 1st September.

Don't know if they are just telling me what I want to hear but I hope it's true.

In france, an internet site selling pda phones on line, indicate as a release date (pda availables in stock) on monday 17th sept.

I can't wait!

;) Chill! Lets get real here, the device hasn't been announced by HTC yet, there are NO official dates, all we have are estimates given by websites that want to encourage us to spend money with them and CS / sales droids who will be getting info 2nd, 3rd..... hand with potential for unreliable info dropping into the chain along the way. When there's a press release then we can get excited. :D :D :D B) :D

If they released the phone with errors we'd jump up and down, I'm sure the HTC sales guys want a good quarter, it'll be out as soon as possible.

I know this phone is the dogs danglies, but at the end of the day that's all it is, compared with world hunger / global warmng / the war against terror /insert crisis of your choice a week or two doesn't really matter.

I wouldn't be surprised if AT&T signed a contract with HTC to have their version be the first initially announced, and they'll wait til the last second to prevent cannibalizing iPhone/8525 sales. Some brick and mortar stores are still selling the 8525 for $500 w/2-yr contract. They'll meet the online price if you bring it up to them, but they won't offer the information on their own accord. I'm betting they'll make more profit selling 8525s at $500 up until Sept 2nd instead of having people wait for the new-hotness with its smaller initial margins.

I agree with some other people that all the excitement and worrying and tension about this phone is pretty funny. It's far from the perfect phone (it would need at least VGA and a faster processor for that IMO), and it's sure to be outdone by any number of HTC phones that will be coming out in another 6-18 months. For the people without any smartphone and planning on a trip soon, I can understand how the specific date may be important, but other than that I think obsessing over the specific date is doing it just to further your own sense of tension.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about it, very much looking forward to not carrying a phone and PDA everyday, and I look for news on it everyday, but I don't have a fit if there's nothing new. I'm sure we all have more important things to think about than whether we'll get a new phone on the 3rd, 11th or 17th.

Found this on the xda site, I trimmed out the less interesting info.

Every time I ask about the 8925, with no luck. I asked about it again and I found out great info. I know we have all seen the reports of the Sep 3rd date. But I now heard it with my own ears. This is what I am told.

First shipment of the 8925 is Sep 3rd 3,200 will be shipped in. then for the next 3 weeks 4,480, 3,200, 3,200 will be shipped into stock.

I hope this info makes you as happy as I am. Oh and I was told in her system it was the HTC 8925, she did not have it called the "tilt"

Then someone replied with these.

HTC representatives are demonstrating the AT&T 8925 to Customer Service within AT&T this week.

Sadly, the device is will not be coming out on Sept 3rd. The device is however scheduled to be release by the end of September.

I just spoke with Customer Service who went up to the HTC rep in regards to the 8925, and the conversation went like this

AT&T Rep: Can you tell me when the 8925 is due to be released?

HTC Rep: The phone does not have a solid release date, but it will be released at the end of the month

AT&T Rep: The customer I have on the phone says he has read on the itnernet that the phone will be released on Sept 3rd.

*HTC rep turns her screen around to show the AT&T Rep*

HTC Rep: That is not gonna happen. *laughs* It will be out by towards the end of September.

Sadly it was also noted that the AT&T 8925 WILL NOT have the front VGA camera for video calling. frown.gif

Ok here is an update. I called back and spoke with this really awesome rep.

She checked her system, and at first glance her system showed that the phone would not be released until "mid-late sept". Then she checked her warehouse inventory, and it showed they are in fact gonna receive the phones on Sept 3rd.

She was then sort of confused and figured that they might be getting the phones early, but not actually start selling them until a later date.

Here is the Link check it out for yourselves. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=324966

BoyGenius Report got hold of AT&T's handset pricing sheet. The Tilt is conspicuously absent, suggesting that it won't be available before Sep. 15.

Yeah especially considering the 8525 is still listed at the regular price. Well $50 cheaper to buy it outright. But with a 2yr contract it will actually be $50 more than it is right now? That does not seem right. One would think they would lower the price to liquidate their investment quicker.

Fantastic review Paul, thank you very much.

Please excuse these newbie questions, but....

1. Will the Kaiser "pair" with a bluetooth enabled laptop so all that GPRS/UTMS 3G (etc) power-connectivity can be used to surf the internet on a laptop?

2. Some sites say Kaiser does have its TOUCH FLO screen enabled, others says it doesn't.  Can you tell me which is true?

3.  If the touch screen is enabled, can you send SMS messages from the touch screen keypad?  Is T-9 predictive text available via touch screen input?

4.Compared with other PDAs, would you say the screen brightness and

clarity is in the top 10%?  Top 20% or ??

5.  If HTC wants the feedback, could you request for the Kaiser "130" to include:

3.5 mm audio out (use any headphones)

stereo speakers

flash for camera

FM radio

Thanks for your thoughts.

You should really search through this topic because poor Paul has probably answered these questions at least a hundred times

You could use the "search" option at the top or, from what I understand, you can download the entire thing and search through using text.

OR... you can do what I did ;)... just read the whole thing! Seriously, I have waited for this phone for probably 3 months and reading this topic is/was fun.

1. Yes you can share the internet connection over Bluetooth

2. The HTC version will have a custom today screen, and all versions will have the finger-scrolling

3. I've not seen that question answered, but I doubt it.

4. That will have to wait for Paul for specifics, but I know he's said and shown that it's very good

5. Little late to try and get features tossed in, wait for the next model in a year or so ;)

Thank you for the [mostly] good news!

Still curious about #3.  Sometimes a quick reply on the virtual numeric keypad (with T-9) is less hassle than using the keyboard.  I have my copy of "PhonePad" ready to download on the HTC.

On #5 - My request was a bit tongue-in-cheek as I gave it the moniker:  Kaiser "130" vice 120 in my post.

Again thanks...and I'm all ears on ANY updates to the info provided!

Every time I walk by an AT&T store I stop in and ask when the 8925/Tilt is coming out. I always get a blank stare or someone that checks the computer and doesn't find anything. Does this mean that the people working in the stores don't know anything, or are we really a while away from an actual release... any opinions, perhaps from someone who has worked in an AT&T store?

Thanks

I have had the same experience. They always check the computer and find nothing, and say "but thats weird because the 8525 is almost brand new and it would be odd to replace it so fast, bla bla."

BUT

Check out this post from the XDA forums:

So, I don't know what to think anymore.

I have a feeling AT&T has gotten hip to the whole "ask them to check the computer" bit so I doubt they'll be putting too much stuff in their before it's officially announced ;) Or maybe there's a big "CONFIDENTIAL" next to it or something, who knows.

And I could post the exact same thing that guy did, he shows no proof so I put no stock in it. I hope he's telling the truth but I wouldn't bet your money on it.

when i go to the AT&T store and ask, they usually dont know, and when they finally acted like they were gonna find something for me, they just went to phonescoop.com and typed in the words kaiser, tilt, and 8925. lol, that was no help.

Hello everyone in this topic,

Like everyone who is waiting for the Kaiser I am very curious when it will be on the market. In the Netherlands it is appearing in more online stores every day now.

So I think it won't take very long anymore before it will be available in Europe.

Once and again - there was HTC press conference and they said, that localised (Czech) version of this beauty one will be there on October 1st. So YES, it's coming. And - what will be another month of waiting compared to previous months ? I'd like tuned device (but later) rather than useles brick (but earlier).

Hi

I wonder why Expansys show no Kaiser on the UK website for pre-order? They showed it for a while for pre-order then it was taken off but Expansys for other countries have it for pre-order with an expected due date.

Regards

Phil
