Guest dakotadave Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 I too would like to be able to know how to do the registry modifications some of these require on a piece by piece basis as I may not want all of the f(x). For e.g. no need for BT DUN hack that might not even be working. But the GPS Photo EXIF information is compelling and so is the music player on the screen (with animation off, of course, sinced it is causing some behavioral issues). Anyway, the idea for individual cabs, or at least individual directions for those that are more than the simple menu set-up selections would be helpful. Trying to build up to my Base Core build that I will image via Sprite.

Guest Manni01 Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 (edited) Hi Paul, Great collection, but will it work on the Vario III? EDIT: ooops, I missed the change in the thread title ;) Edited September 29, 2007 by Manni01
Guest Noiz Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 On the Universal there was a great little tweak that sped up the switch from portrait to landscape and vice versa. Is there something like that for the Kaiser? And/or will the same tweak work?
Guest EtniesRIT Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Paul - How do we do just the performance tweaks? - File system cache tuned (performance tweaking) - Font cache size increased (performance tweaking) - IP multicasting fine tuned (performance tweaking) - TCP windows size increased (performance tweaking) I'm really not interested in the other items. Thanks. - Dave

Thanks. - Dave There is a great new tool at xda-developers forum for these and some other common registry changes: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333898 Its a GUI app that reads your settings and lets you select your changes. It's easy to use. Just run it, change what you want and do a soft reset. Cheers.
Guest kapot Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Paul, The WinCECabManager, is it a freeware or not? Refer to XDA-Dev, it said freeware, but ... Thanks.
Guest just.BE Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 hi, is it possible to make a cab only for the HTC home music tab? thanks
Guest FlangeArtist Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 hi, is it possible to make a cab only for the HTC home music tab? thanks Or to know what the Registry settings are, so that we would possibly change it to what the individual wants?
Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 I just tried to load these tweaks into my Vario. But nothing seems to have changed ;) Do I need to do anything via Resco File Explorer? Or should the tweaks kick in automatically once I have put them on the phone?
Guest van_mierlo Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Hi Paul, do you know if Brodit TyTN holder will work with the TYTN II? Mikey, The brodit holder for the TyTN won't work. The TyTN II version will be out soon(next week) and available at www.proclipusa.com Johan van Mierlo Communication and Account Executive ProClip USA

But nothing seems to have changed ;) Do I need to do anything via Resco File Explorer? Or should the tweaks kick in automatically once I have put them on the phone? The cab file changes registry settings which get checked at power on, so you'll need to soft reset if you haven't already. EDT: should also point out, just in case you're not familiar, with cab files that you need to "run" (or open, or click, or which ever way you want to put it) the cab file to install the tweaks, not just copy it somewhere on your phone. Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Thanks Shuflie. SO I dont need to go in and alter anything in the registry or nothing?
Guest Shuflie Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Thanks Shuflie. SO I dont need to go in and alter anything in the registry or nothing? No, its all done for you when you install the cab file.

Provided you have installed the CAB, try giving your phone a 'soft reset'.

Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Provided you have installed the CAB, try giving your phone a 'soft reset'. PS What's a "soft reset"? Is it just switching the phone off and back on again? If not, then would a soft reset get rid of any of my other settings? Ring tones, email settings etc?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Yes, a soft reset is turning it off / on again! P
Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Ta Paul. And if I were to install the Tweak pack below over your original 2.0, will it affect anything on the phone? http://www.modaco.com/Kaiser-Tweak-t260007.html
Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Well, I finally got the Tweak Pack to come up. I changed the Animations to On... but nothing different with the Icons. No animation. I done a few soft resets just in case the first one didnt work. Help please ;)
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 It's window opening animation, not icon animation! P
