Hi everyone, I recently just got myself a mountain bike and i had a brainwave,

to mount my M600 to it!

Crazy i know, but i got tomtom on there and it seems logical to

have a play!

I looked at the car holder and thought about modifying it, but idealy

it wants to be solid and preferably something waterproof?

Does anyone know of such a device i can get for about £10, ill maybe

go £15 hehe.

note i have seen some designed for O"XDAs and imate jams

but i dunno if they are the same size? and but they not water proof

also does anyone else have this sort of setup? i could also probably do with

something a little more interesting then tomtom too, so please let me know

what your using!

thanks in advance

I can't comment on the mounting front (but there must surely be something to suit) however with regards to software aside from TomTom have you seen the confusingly-titled MemoryMap? (http://www.memory-map.co.uk/) OS maps on your PDA with route planning (waypoints etc) and route tracking (download your actual path taken to your PC and view elevation/speed profiles etc) and more besides. Highly recommended.

Although way over your price range Brodit do a bike mount which looks very good: http://www.dsldevelopments.com/brodit/BikeMountDSL.asp I don't own it but have considered it.

As for software I have to agree that Memory Map is superb for bike riding - especially if you're an offroader. If you're a road cyclist then TomTom is probably fine and has the advantage that you can use it in your car too!

If you go for the brodit option, you can use the same m600 holder in your car as on your bike, thus saving you money if you're prepared to shift it back and forth.

Doesn't help with the water proofing or crash proofing at all of course.

There is a long thread with pictures about this somewhere on here - have a look through this forum for it...

Thank you everyone and thank you Blakey, Much appreciated!

This thread has an option for you.

I've tested this and to be completely honest its a total pain in the backside getting it in and out again. It does work, it is cheap (cheapest I've found). It is water proof.

Issues: reading the map in strong sunlight. Getting the phone in and out.
