Is this upgrade really necessary? I don't want to waste time upgrading if I don't need it for the phone to function on my network properly. I don't know if anybody ever answered your question, but here's my take on it. As far as I understand, unless you do a lot of international traveling to one of the affected countries, the only benefit to this upgrade would be some re-branding of some of the icons in your smart menu (AT&T Mall instead of Cingular Mall, for example). I wouldn't bother with it, personally - just wait for the WM6 Upgrade (If AT&T ever gets off their butts long enough to get the darned thing out!).
