Guest Subliminal Aura Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Set the backlight to time out after Xsecs on battery/mains then in the power options set device to turn off after Xmins idle... HTH What does WM6 define as being idle whilst being charged externally ? If I'm activesync'd and idling will it turn off. (which is not too bad I suppose) Yet worse if I'm using tomtom6 whilst driving and have not touched any of the functions of the ppc will it turn off ? This is the main reason why I do not allow the PPC to turn whilst under mains power.

This is the main reason why I do not allow the PPC to turn whilst under mains power. So set it not to turn off when on mains power. I think tomtom (or another GPS program) used to have an option to keep the backlight alive (even on battery power), but it doesn't seem to be an option in TTN 6
Guest lozzd Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 TomTom on my VIII keeps the device and the screen on.
Guest Shuflie Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Ah, that must be why its no longer an option. ;)
Guest Erem Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 It's not an option because the Kaiser's screen is NOT trans-reflective and if the backlight goes off the screen is blank. The TyTN I was still visible when the backlight was off, not so with Kaiser. With active sync connected the display dims but the Kaiser stays on. With Nav in process it stays on, but the display dims at timeout which I like at night actually. With A/C adapter connected it times out and turns off.
