Hello

coming from a WM20003 were Bluetooth activesync was no problem at all I struggle to set it up now on the Kaiser and WM6.

1) I paired the Kaiser with my Windows XP Laptop without any problem

2) I select outgoing com part in the BT settings as COM 8 (it was Com 7 on my MDA II, but Com7 is not available on the Kaiser)

3) I select activesync as service on the laptop

4) I enable com 8 in the active sync on the PC

When I select now connect via bluetooth in activesync menu I got the message " Cannot find an existing bluettoth partnership with a PC that support activesync. Would you like to create a partnership now ?"

Not able to break this circle even when I paired again .. even if the pairing is started from the activesync dialog screen .. any idea what is wrong ?

Help needed ... Freecall

This is how I got it working...

o first establish a pairing with the PC for other BT services

o on the Kaiser, go ActiveSync app

o then in your ActiveSync->Connection Settings on the PC side, click Connect (and your PC will start scanning for available connections)

o on the Kaiser, Menu->Connect by BT

and they should figure out which port and set it all up. You might have to rinse/repeat a couple times for it stick.

Don't mess with the com settings as com8 on your Kaiser is NOT the same com8 on your PC.

I had a lot of trouble getting my kaiser to activesync through bluetooth. It didn't help that I am new to both ppc and bluetooth. What eventually fixed it was to use an 8 character key when I was stting up the pairing - first time only.

The key entry page says 6-12 characters (maybe 6-14 I don't remember) I kept using 6 becuase I am lazy. I read in some forum or other ( I searched for bluetooth activesync) that it needs to be an 8 character key. When I tried that the pairing and the bluetooth sync happened with no further trouble.

I suggest that on your kaiser you delete the present pairing you have in bluetooth settings (press on it and select delete) start over and use the 8 character key.

Good luck
