Guest PaulRed Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Hi everyone I'm new to this site and have been reading with great interest I have just moved from Orange to T-Mobile on a 18months contract with Vario III (ofcourse). They gave me a great deal I think: Flext 35 + Web n Walk Max + Free evening/weekend calls for £52.50 per month (incl. a £5 discount) £8.99 insurance extra Total: £61.49 per month with the handset for £49.99 + delivery charge Is there a thread (or the need for one maybe?) just detailing what deals people are getting with their SP's when getting the upgrade? I certainly would make use of it when negiotiating my impending upgrade! Paul
Guest Shuflie Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 It doesn't appear on the Remove Programs list to uninstall, I guess one could just delete the file, but I suspect it'll leave bits of stuff around the place? It did for me in the list of programs when connected through activesync or wmdm (I can't remember which computer I uninstalled it from)
Guest KrashedKid Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 I picked up my baby today from the post office. and what a beauty she is. Do i have to wait 3 hours during its first charge before i turn it on or can i turn it on now while its charging without diminishing its battery lifetime? many thanks,
Guest lozzd Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Why is it the postman is always late when you're waiting for something like the Vario III to be delivered ;)
Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 There will be a residual charge in the battery. Just pop the batt in and start playing ;)

Guest robt Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Ok. Tmobile came up trumps for me. Been with them for 2 years on Flex 20 and web n walk pro. I'd decided I would aim for an upgrade price of £100, bearing in mind Im on their lowest Flext tariff but doubted if I'd get it. Their offer - upgrade to Vario 3 on the same tariff for £99.99! Didnt have to haggle or anything. I really was thinking a move to Vodafone was on the cards but its Tmob for another 18 months. They really are a good company to deal with. Hopefully I'll get my £100 back by selling my Tytn which has been a great phone too. I have found Tmob are really just too good to leave, cant say fairer than that! Rob ;)
Guest monkey2nut Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Just ordered one over the phone. New contract on Flext25 WnW £27.50/month. Handset price £150. Hope it arrives t-morrow ;)
Guest DJ_Enigma Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 (edited) Just ordered mine ;) Flext 35 + web'n'walk (18 months) £180 allowance + unlimited FREE weekend calls + Unlimited web surfing and e-mails for £37.50 The Phone was £69.99 with £5 postage. Guest jharvey00 Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 YESSSSSS! Finally, after 7 (seven!) calls to T-Mobile, I finally managed to get a reasonable upgrade offer of only £80 - the other 6 times I'd had nothing below £280 unless I wanted to loose my 25% discount. Its good to finally join to club ;)
Guest Swampie Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 First ever call to T-Mobile CS for an upgrade to Vario III went well. Actually, it was the first time I'd ever upgraded on any network! I'm on 18 month Flext 25 + WnW but have a 50% Employee referral discount, so I pay £16.25 per month and rarely, if ever, exceed my allowance. Initially, after explaining it's a newly released phone, and I have a heavy discount on the line rental, wanted £230 for the handset! I explained that I'd heard of a number of people getting it for much less than that - around £100 for those on the same tariff as me, even less for higher tariffs. She said she could do it less if I lost my discount, but after a few seconds said "How's £80?". She dropped the price to £80 with no changes to my discount or my tariff level. Add on £5.99 for delivery and it should be with me tomorrow. She confirmed twice that I still kept my discount. Brilliant. Just have to wait to see what it's like tomorrow! Anyone know if TomTom Navigator 5 works on it? I have it on my Vario (mk 1) running WM6 without issue - and don't want to have to buy a new copy of TomTom to get it working on there.
Guest scouser75 Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Well, I finally went against the Tytn II and opted for the Vario III as T-Mobile gave me an offer I most defo could not refuse ;) The lady I spoke to was unbelievably friendly, helpful and understanding. This is the reason I've been with t_mobile from the beginning :D They are BRILLIANT  I get the phone tomorrow before 1PM. Cant wait to get rid of my N95!!
Guest WILBUR Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 2) There was no memory card with Vario III. I would be grateful if someone can recommend a meaty memory card for a reasonable price. Many thanks Migs there's a thread about this... http://www.modaco.com/TyTN-II-6GB-microSDHC-c-t259417.html or type "6gb micro sd memory" into ebay!
Guest dead_beat Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Ayup peoples! I ordered my Vario III today! ;) Flext 35 plus W&W 18 month contract for £37.50 a month and the handset was £69.99 although i forgot to confirm whether or not i get free evening and weekend calls :D I'm getting the phone tomorrow before 1pm! Can't wait! Can someone confirm with me what size memory card comes with it if any at all? I'm gonna order a 4gb when i get my paycheck but untill then i'm stuck with whatever comes in the box :D I can't wait to get the handset... I can finally leave crappy old 3! Got my pac code waiting to be used! lol
Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Looks like you'll be waiting til paycheck time then, cuz the Vario III from Tightwad-Mobile, comes with NO micro-SD card ;)
Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 I'm guessing the phone doesn't come with a memory card lads. Will my micro sd card from my N95 work on the Vario? Also, can someone confirm if the Vario III comes with the headphones that will give you radio reception? If not, I'll have to order a set from Expansys.
Guest andysalmon Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Lowest I could get is £100 + £5.99 delivery, but I get to keep my WNW 200 with 1/2 price line rental ;-) 5 previous calls before refused to budge from £180!

It uses microSD/Transflash so one from the N95 will work. The Vario III doesn't have a radio, no matter what headphones you use. The headphones it comes with are for making phone calls and listening to the audio output from the device. I've left mine in the packet as I bought the HTC remote adapter for 3.5mm headphones for listening to music and use a bluetooth headset for making calls. Edited October 1, 2007 by Phil Lee
Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 No radio ;) I thought that if I had a headset with an aerial/antenna thingy-ma-jiggy I could pick up radio  I was going to order the HTC remote adapter for this reason....

Guest gazbert Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 I got the Vario III on the Flext 25 + Web n Walk Plus tariff. Should've been £37.50 per month but I kept my existing 25% discount so it's costing me approx £28.13 a month instead. Very happy customer indeed!
Guest predo1 Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 (edited) they're nuts! i was just on the phone with bloke from t-mob. 12m + W&W flex 25 - over £200 flex 35 - £160 flex 50 - £70 18m + w&w flex 25 - £150 flex 30 - £110 i was prepared to pay up to £ 150 for flex 25 on 12m contract or up to £60 on flex 35 on 12m contract... is this something i could expect to get or am i hoping for too much? Other thing was that the guy said the prices are not negotiable whatsoever.... since when? should i just keep calling them and speak to different people? ohh and by the way, if anyone wants £20 for refferal scheme I happy to assist as new customer ;-) Edited October 1, 2007 by predo1

Guest StephenR Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 I'm currently a Windows Mobile "Standard" user on O2 thinking of making the leap to a Vario III. I've just phoned T-Mobile and been quoted £169.99 on Flex 20 + Web'n'Walk - does that sounds like a good deal, or should I keep trying? I'm aware that is the lowest W&W tariff, but I wouldn't use any more minutes/texts than that. The guy didn't seem to want to negotiate either. BTW he said there was plenty of stock.

IMO thats not a good deal at all on 18m contract! I wouldn't pay more than a £150 ever! The guy didn't seem to want to negotiate either. BTW he said there was plenty of stock. was his name Alan by any chance? I spoke to Alan and as i said, he said that price is not negotiable at all. Quite strong statement from a salesman trying to convince new customer... dont you think?
