Guest zulm Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 anyway, can you post a copy of the advert in here? because that guy said he would need to see the full page and the adj page of that magazine. scans from the magazine before and after the price change ;) like i said before the price change has been amended as a sticker over the original print price (prob as a quick fix for the current run of the magazine); http://www.zulm.net/tmobile/
Guest DJ_Enigma Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Just phoned T-Mobile about my handset as I'm not sure if it is faulty because the box was battered and it runs VERY slow, also the gfx on web pages don't look right for some reason. They were very helpful!! They have arranged for someone to bring me a brand new one in the morning and take the old one away ;) Bit of a result  Thought I was gonna have to pay postage and stuff, but they are collecting it as they drop the new one. Had no idea they did next business day on-site exchanges like this :D Very happy with that outcome tbh. Here's to hoping the replacement will be better! DJ
Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 DJ I'm afraid I'm going to upset you a little here. I too have had to return my first phone. It was slightly scratched and was running very slow - especially the internet. But when I got my new one it also ran just as slow as the old one. I played about with my mates Vario II last night, and compared to the VIII it was incredibly faster. The net. Opening apps. everything. I think this may be a problem that needs to be addressed in a software update.

But I wanted/needed to return it anyway cause when I come to sell it I will want a box thats in perfect condition  Also I might hang on to the battery on the sly as a spare ;) DJ
Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 ... that would be stealing mate!
Guest DJ_Enigma Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 as would charging £100+ for a phone that should be free ;) I would buy one if I could find one anywhere. DJ

Guest onewildlad Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Got one from the t mobile store in york pricing was wrong on the till, Should have been £169.99 (flext 20 W'n'W 18 mths) young lady said she'd do it for £150. Did all the paper work and rang it up and the till said £89.99 she said it was my lucky day,i agreed paid and left a.s.a.p!!Lol ;) :D Off to play now!
Guest Howard Moon Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Just tried the "It says it's free in the magazine" pitch. After a painful 25 minute call she said that although it was printed in the magazine they weren't offering it because it's a misprint. I asked to terminate my contract and she happily obliged...
Guest dead_beat Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 I guess now the misprint has been identified and sorted there's no chance of anyone getting their money back or getting a free Vario III. I'm glad i rang up when i did! Phew!

I'm glad i rang up when i did! Phew! I called t-mobile this afternoon, about 3pm and mentioned about the free handset on Flex 30 +WnW (18 months) from the T-mobile catalog , to my surprise, the lady told me it's not possible, but since they made a mistake, they will do it for me this time ;) So hopefully I will receive my Vario 3 tomorrow, will report it back later.
Guest Howard Moon Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 This is the reason why I have cancelled my contract with them. If the misprint was universally dismissed then I wouldn't have been so annoyed.

I called in for the first time, it was free, however, the call was terminated suddently, then I called again, i was then told not possible ;) , then i was patched to another person. this repeated for several times and finally got it done for free
Guest tsutton Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 My current plan: Flext 20 with WnW - £27.50 a month Called this evening. They offered me Vario III for £79.90 AND... Dropped down my monthly plans to £22.50 including WnW However the phones are out of stock! But they did say they will honor this deal when the phone is back in stock. I'm happy. ;)

I'm happy. ;) Somehow i regerted for ordering the phone.... Total ownership for the phone = £32/month + £9 insurance * 18 + £6 delivery= £744 even if i drop the insurance after 6 month and switch to a cheaper traiff after the 11th months it will still cost me: ((32+9)*6) +(32*5)+(15*6)+6 = £502!! I might just keep my SE k800i then sign up for one of those 12 months free traiff and buy a new pda instead. I might not even open the box and return it stright away. or even not to collect it to save the returning cost...
Guest ketanc Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007  It's awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks better in the flesh. works fast as well, for some reason the GPRS is quicker than on my MDA compact. The 3G is amazing. The HSDPA is out of this world ( well I am used to GPRS). BTW you may need to ask customer relations to activate the HSDPA as in some cases it is defaults to 3G if your SIM is not HSDPA activated. Hang in there for your deals guys its worth the wait. My only gripe is the imperfect connection to my router at home though this seems to be the routers quirk rather than the Vario III. I will wait for the 8GB Micro SD cards to come out and the New Copilot 7 on CD and I'll finally have the ultimate gadget. ( ;) till the next one anyway). Now all i need to do is find a decent car cradle/charger and bluetooth kit. Any recomendations! :D I can't stop smilling. Ketanc
Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Any idea when the 8gb cards will be available?
Guest lozzd Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Am I right in thinking the business card scanning software didn't come with the Vario III? Can people with a TyTN II just send it to us?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 It's not on the V3 and it's in ROM on the TyTN II. P
Guest ketanc Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Hi, mymemory.co.uk is taking pre-orders for 8GB micro sdhc cards ketanc
Guest varioIII-lover Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 just got my 6gb micro sd through from mobymemory .. looks like royal mail are moving again .. ok .. after a bit of thinking, i contacted t-mobile because the varioIII phone screen has gone blank a few times while the phone is still on and you can press the buttons and they make a noise, soft reset didn't work a few times then battery out of the back did. so the good ppl at t-mobile are replacing it with a fresh one; which leads me to ask .. can i back everything up and have my new phone the same as it is on the old device? shall i just copy the whole folders across or use sprite backup? advice welcome! v3-L ;)
Guest JesterMinute Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Bad luck to those guys who havn't managed to blag it, but just to confirm i got my Vario III through the post today and checking my bill it's the rate i expected (i.e. i havn't been mysteriously charged). Again, a lot of kudos to the very nice customer services lady who really focussed on the customer aspect of her job. Jester
Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Thanks KetanC for the heads-up on the 8gb cards. As for t-mobile - seriously guys, without any doubt what-so-ever their customer service is the best. I had a very short stint with Orange but went straight back to t-mobile... mainly cuz of their reception and customer service ;)
Guest Mr.Clark Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I decided to bite the bullet and went into the T-Mobile shop in York to see if it would be cheaper than the internet. Amazingly, just as she let me start playing with it, she mentioned that she could let me have it for £150 on Flext 20 Web'n'Walk... result! Or so I thought. I went through the paperwork, filled everything in and signed where applicable, and she ran it through the till. £89.99. She thought it had got mixed up with the Vario II price, but let me have it for that price. RESULT ;) Now to have a play...
