Yes, the Touch Dual did appear to have WiFi.

Phew... now on the train home!

The S730 htc site blurb says

features an auto-sliding QWERTY keyboard
.

What is this auto sliding they speak of! I'm guessing a bit of marketing nonsense?

I think it means its an assisted (eg spring-loaded) slide.

Presentation slides from the video are now up in the first post!

I (and probably a lot of others) need some clearance on:

- The naming scheme on the new Touch. Are both version called Touch Dual or?

- WiFi! You both say WiFi was present on the presented devices, but nowhere does HTC say anything about it? Could be launched on networks without it and SIM free with it?

Re: Naming scheme - both are called the Touch Dual, one variant having a 9-key "phone" pad, and the other having a 20-key pseudo-qwerty pad.

Re: Wifi - for the last time, they ALL had Wifi! As for mobile operators disabling it who knows, its happened before but there was no word in it happening again.

Ok ;)

Sorry, but it just seems really weird there's absolutely no mentioning of WiFi on the official HTC page:

Network

HSDPA/UMTS: 2100 MHz

HSDPA: Up to 384kbps for upload and 3.6Mbps for download

UMTS: Up to 384kbps for upload and download

GSM/GPRS/EDGE: Tri-band 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz

(The device will operate on frequencies available from the cellular network)

and

Connectivity

Bluetooth® 2.0

HTC ExtUSBâ„¢ (11-pin mini-USB and audio jack in one), Hi-speed USB 2.0, HTC H2Wire support

And since almost all other (new) devices from HTC (including the three others launched today) include WiFi, it seems unlikely to be a copy-paste error on the spec sheet.
