Guest Neil5459 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 And again, as i've said, it is potentially possible that the operators could request for this to be disabled, but i cant think of a PPC/Professional device that has ever had that done to it. T Mobile MDA Compact III? OK, I know they cheated a bit and released the HTC Hero (non WiFi) rather than the Artemis, but it upset a few people who don't get a consistent T-Mobile signal, and need WiFi at those times.
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 So technically, not the same device! As i've said, its possible that the carriers could request for it to be removed (apparently this is the case with O2 Germany!). Either way, the Duals yesterday were wifi equipped! (although i'm now starting to doubt myself :/ wish i'd taken a pic of it!)
Guest SilentBob Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 We are directed to the HTC Europe website to download this new "full screen" keyboard, but I am assuming this is via the eClub?!? However, this appears to be only open to those with HTC branded devices purchased sim free. So despite the fact that I am now on my 5th HTC handset, for which the subsidy comes from the networks, I don't appear to be entitled to download these addons from HTC (as my current device is via T-Mobile). I really don't understand the thinking behind this. Anyone who owns one of these devices & who goes looking for addons would presumably be very capable of taking responsibility for the installation of these. Instead, we have to go to other (non-official) sites to download these, leaving us vulnerable to "doctored" versions that could damage our devices. As a further point, a couple of things I have noticed from reports on the launch: - The extension of TouchFlo into the slideshows & picture management. - Additional tabs on the HTC Home plugin. Are either of these going to be available as updates to existing Touch owners (HTC or network branded)? Also, it would be interesting to see size comparison photos between the Touch & the Touch Dual. regards, Simon

I downloaded one from the following site that is similar (but no word on the one mentioned above)....http://www.pocketcm.com/. I tried the contact tool as well but i have too many contacts for it - it bogs it down. But the keypad works really good.
