Guest georgie.charles Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Hi Guys, What should be on the enclosed CD it appears a bit bare! ActiveSync 4.5, the Vista alternative (Mobile Device Centre), some Sprite back-up software, and SPB GPRS use monitoring software.
Guest andysalmon Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Thanks peeps, and there was me thinking I'd got a duff disc, when all along T Mob were just being tight ;) Glad I spanked them with me deal then
Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Outlook is not included. Should we be thinking this is a little odd for it not to be included? (I wouldn't have a clue what's on the CD, still not opened that bit of the packing box ;) )
Guest Flubster Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 the outlook on the HTC Kaiser vanilla disk is a 60 day trial only..... Flubster
Guest andysalmon Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 M$ Outlook was included with previous incarnation of the Vario but is now missing altogether! All you get on the (single) CD is: Electronic instruction Manual/Handbook M$ AS 4.5 (and vista version) SBP (Not branded tho) GPRS monitor Sprite backup (PPC and PC) and erm,..that's it!
Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 With the only CD in the T-Mobile packaging, it's correct to assume Sprite Backup is on there? Just I've looked at the CD label and it makes no mention of Sprite.. and since I'm running Vista (quite happily on a system with 4Gb of that lovely random access stuff) I have no need for Active Sync since Vista uses something different again, and I've still to break the seal...
Guest mandt Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Sprite backup and Spb GPRS Monitor ;)
Guest mandt Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 (edited) Double post.....Ignore me......Nothing to see here ;) Edited October 16, 2007 by mandt
Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Thanks for the update.... I guess I will at some point actually get around to opening the CD wallet ;)
Guest Neil5459 Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Should we be thinking this is a little odd for it [Outlook] not to be included? (I wouldn't have a clue what's on the CD, still not opened that bit of the packing box ;) ) All previous Pocket PC have had Outlook on the CD- initially Outlook 2000, then Outlook 2002. There was never any later version included. ActiveSync V4.1 onwards does not work with Outlook 2002 (at least it won't work reliably- it will work if you have had a previous version os A/S, and upgrade, but not for a new installation) and M/S are unwilling to provide a free full copy of Outlook 2007. So, unless you are willing to pay the money (£40) for the full version, you will lose the ability to sychronise your new device. Until MS sort out Vista's supposed native Contacts/Calendar support :(
