Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 So a mate of mine just sent over a GE KML file, detailing his route to work, tracked curtesy of his N95 with built in gps. As the Kaiser also has built in gps, does anyone know of an equivalent gps tracking s/w like this: http://research.nokia.com/research/projects/SportsTracker/ tia
Guest Phil Lee Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 VITO ActiveTrace does what you want. It's a freebie if you sign up with Modaco Plus.
Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Thanks muchly...In the process of squirting said app onto my vario3 ;)
Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Hmmm, pretty close, but no cigar just yet. Been playing with ActiveTrace out the car park, seems to track quite nicely (though I was "wandering" around stood stationary for a while) - only thing this app appears to be missing is an export function for the trace. I did have a peeky in the app folder and saw a track folder, with lots of weenie track files and an XML file too. Might be a way of munching on that data to get something useful out of this to squirt into Google Earth...
Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 SportsDo seems pretty neat, though a tad on the expensive side... Here's me doing a lap of honour around the factory: http://www.sportsdo.net/ActivityView.aspx?sid=14482 ;)
Guest Flubster Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 ihni if this is any good but http://www.rungps.net/ come recommended from a few friends Flubster
Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Wow! What a complex bit of s/w! So many options, it might (I only said might) inspire me to actually take up running to keep fit lol
Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Run GPS == Dogs Danglies...will *definately* be buying this software once the 2 week trial expires. Awesome!
Guest chilledatthebottom Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Just a quick update... Been using this Run-GPS software in anger over the weekend in West Wales, covering my tracks for the Drift event I was the photographer for... Bloody awesome bit of stuff - there's pretty much nothing it doesn't do for tracking ;) If you've got a Kaiser, wondered what the hell you'll do with the built in GPS... download Run-GPS and have a play!
Guest tsutton Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Cameraware can do similar thing with tracking and is viewable via Google Maps.
