Guest dolbe666 Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 first, what cab file? the bluetooth stereo works just fine right out of the box with no aditional software. there is a good chance the cab file you installed is what could be causeing the problem, but without knowing what it was i couldnt say for sure. second, just what bluetooth headset did you get? the jabra 3030 or jabra 320s, or is it another one? third, have you deleted the paired settings on your phone? thats all you have to do to remove the pairing. finaly be sure your holding the call send button long enough to turn it on but not too long or it will go straigh into pairing mode. its 3 seconds to turn it on, 4-5 second to turn it off. a 1 secont push to make a call, a quick press to answer, a long press to redial. for bluetooth stereo you have to select stereo headset and for the phones handsfree you select handsfree in the bluetooth settings by lont pressing on the device paired settings on the phone. if your not sure read the instructions those instructions where for the jabra bt 3030

I paired it before trying that and it only offered "heandsfree" as a thing to use... I've probably screwed that up... I've removed a program called "your name your company name you..." I think that's the only thing it could be. dunno. I'd see if I could get it to pair again... It's the 320s I did, I'm trying to get it to pair again now... and I can't get the headset to work the button doesn't click any more, if I hold it I can get the green light to flash, but it doesn't go to blue, and it hardly ever goes back off again :) I think I've either got a dud one or i've broken it :D EDIT: God... it's just turned myself on sitting on my sofa and I can't get it to turn off. EDIT OF THE EDIT: It turned itself off again after a while. but somewhere along the line I made it not put the sound through my normal headphones :D So I hardreset, and then managed to wipe my contacts :D:D Edited February 1, 2008 by shootydogthing
Guest hotphil Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 There's a way to reset the 320s - you may want to google it, but i think it's plug it in to the charger for a few seconds, disconnect, repeat x 3
Guest steveoidm Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 think of it this way, the 320 was stereo the 3030 sounds like 5.1 dolby. the handsfree is louder and better sound quality through calls. and the mustic is twice as loud and alot richer sounding than the 320. the 320 is good for what it is but the 3030 is a step forward. no more hiss either. with the 320 i had to put both earpiece in to here the person on hte other end of the call, but with the 3030 i can hear fine with just one earpiece in. and the 3030 is smaller and easier to use in the dark because it lights up all the controls at a touch off any button awesome, will order it now!
Guest steveoidm Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Got the 3030 last night... Gutted.. Compared to the 320 it is: 1) Much much much quieter. You can't get any decent volume out of it. 2) Much more difficult to use without looking at it (if it clipped to the front of your coat for example). 3) The hiss is still there. Maybe less than the 320 but its not a fair comparison as it is so much quieter. 4) Sound quality is better I think. Although again it isn't a fair comparison due to the comparitive volumes. This is all for audio, I haven't tried calling yet. Basically dont buy it.. Spend £25 less and get the 320. Oh well, will keep it in my bag as a backup.

I think you better check your settings I have to turn down the volume while on the phone becuase its too loud. you do know when you turn on the 3030 its volume is set to 60% by default and you have to turn the volume up on the 3030. I find music on it excellent and also dont have to listen to it at full volume. and I like my rock loud. as for the controls it takes a bit getting used to but as the controls are raised you can use them without looking after awhile just by knowing where the buttions are on it. as with all devices you just have to get used to using it before you can use it without having to look at it. I had problems at first but after having it a month its the best bluetooth headset ive tried. and ive tried the sony ones, the 320 a few different jabra headsets but find the 3030 very good for sound quality Edited February 7, 2008 by dolbe666
Guest shootydogthing Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 What the hell... New one came today and it worked perfectly first time. must have been a dud before...
Guest steveoidm Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Hi.. Good news! Something must have been up with my phone. Decided to reflash it and pair the headset again.. Everything is well. Much louder than the 320s and much better quality too. There is still a bit of hiss, but that would only ever been annoying if you listened to acoustic stuff at really high volumes, which would be a bit weird anyway :) I even think it adds a bit of weight to the tracks compared with the usb connector. Tried calling too, much better quality than the 320s. All round a great improvement. Sorry if I scared anyone! Steve
Guest dolbe666 Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 the 3030 handles bass very well. also the headphones that come with it actually sound better than my sony headphones of similar design. jabra say their headphones are diesigned with the bluetooth reciever for optimum sound quality and if you use other headphones it may effect the quality of the sound. well I thought the sony ones would perform better but I was wrong,The sony headphones rattled under heavy bass. the jabra headphones handle the bass better and gave a clearer sound quality over phonecalls and music playback
