Filesystem for Samsung SGH-i600?

I am using Mobile Gmaps for locating where I am.

In order to put the extracted map files in my 2G microSD card, I am suggested to re-format the card and change the filesystem. I wonder if any one knows what filesystem can be used by Samsung SGH-i600 (which makes i600 read the card successfully) as the most efficient one to store those enormous and tiny pieces of maps?
