Initial calendar view (driving me nuts)

Got my VIII a while ago and I love it but one little irritation is doing my head in. I love the Agenda view in the outlook calendar and I have the options set to open the calendar in this view. When I launch it by navigating to the app in Programs it works fine. However when I launch it from a soft key ( I have it set to the right hand one) it launches in the (frankly not very useful) month view.

I've tried unassigning and then re-assigning the soft key but with no joy. Any thought?
