switch off xT9 on Touch Dual

does anybody know how to set standard keyboard as default keyboard rather then xT9 type of keyboard?

You can use SKTools to do this, or the free application 'SIPchange'.

here you go... this works like a charm... it puts the "abc" mode as default iso XT9

I bought SKTools on the strength of your repeated recommendations of it and to be honest, haven't used it much really but I've had a good look round it now but can't find this - I want to set xt9 as default but can't find where to do it...any ideas?

Hi,

If you have a registry editor then the key is:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\IME

"CarrierDefaultTextMode"

1 = xT9 default

0 = abc default
