Notification/soft key problem

When I get a notification it attempts to display itself every second or so but is being immediately overwritten by whatever soft key I have defined so I can't actually click on the notification.

I have tried changing the soft key and soft-resets but nothing helps.

Any ideas how to fix this?

[update] - found the problem, it was the QuickMenu app.
