Guest tytn2user Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 Hello, I bought the TYTN 2 yesterday in Poland and noticed that the language on the device is Czech. Unfortunately, I don't speak Czech. A couple of hours of looking for a way to change the language to English have given me little hope of resolving the problem, and the customer support for HTC is offline (I suspect until after the holidays -- I will have already left Poland). Is there a simple way to change the language? The device is presently unusable for me (I don't understand the menus), and I'd hate to have to return it, especially at this time of the year :( Can anyone help? Kind regards, Art
Guest mandt Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 I think the only way around this is to flash it with an English ROM If you visit the Kaiser forum at xda-developers.com there is a pinned thread with a list of ROMs, in the list you will find a link to the official TyTn II release ROM. If you don't know how to flash it visit the Kaiser wiki at the same site and read lots!!

Kind regards, Art As far as I know, it is not possible to just 'change' your language within the device. You have to flash your ROM. Not all ROM's are equal and flashing can be risky if you do not know what you're doing. Check out www.xda-developers.com Good Luck!
Guest tytn2user Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 It turned out if I do a hard reset of the device it reinstalls everything from scratch, and after going through the initial setup, I eventually got to a screen that lets me select the language for the OS. Thanks for the assistance either way, and I look forward to participating in what appears to be a very cool forum! :(
