Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Yes, but those stats are the SESSIONS STATS, not necessarily what it's gonna upload. P
Guest Fozza Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Yes, but those stats are the SESSIONS STATS, not necessarily what it's gonna upload. P Well I did not notice a massive hit on my next upload either. Still I'm less bitter about it now, and I'm happily using Cameraware on my Kaiser which is much more reliable. Seems to crash on my 3100 though. It works fine up till it trys to auto upload and then crashes.
Guest woogal Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Bit perplexed by the apparent O2 cell mast on my roof, oh well more points for me. It logs where you were when you first picked up the cell, not where the cell actually is.
Guest scottt Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 (edited) I have joined up through your link Paul, I have it running on my tytnII, tytn, and m600 all with different sim's and using the gps on the tytnII with gps gate, but I cant get it to work on my m500 or c500 it will load navizon and start but as soon as the gps picks up the Sat's it just closes down navizon, I have also tried it with my bluetooth gps unit and same problem. anybody got it working on the m500 or c500. In data setting in navizon I have set it to work offline as I don't have a great data plan (orange) will this effect the logging in anyway ? Is there a way to let my tytn and m600 use the gprs on the tytn II to sync the data, so I could update from time to time to save me waiting till I get home and have wifi as the tytn and m600 are payg sim's. Thanks Scott Edited January 19, 2008 by scottt
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 GPSGate will let you share your TyTN II GPS over BT. P
Guest tsutton Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 GPSGate will let you share your TyTN II GPS over BT. Hmm, I tried it on the other day and couldn't get it to work. What settings did you use, etc?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 I haven't actually tried it, check this out: http://franson.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3968 P
Guest scottt Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 my settings for gps gate input - com port 4 baud rate 4800 Active output - Virtual com 1 - this is what I selected when I set it up In the active output box I also have gpsgate direct, bluetooth server (scn 25), virtual com 2 I then paired my m3100 with the tytnII and on the m3100 -bluetooth settings - device - tytnII I have serial port ticked and dialup network unticked. I then started navizon and in gps settings - gps: bluetooth (direct connection) and it will search and should find the bluetooth gps on the tytnII. My Question was how to share my gprs on my tytnII with my other ppc so I can upload my data, not share gps as I allready have this set up. Cheers Scottt
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Ah, I see! You could use WMWifiRouter perhaps? P
Guest Shadowfixeruk Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 hi guys has anyone used Navizon in France? - if so - what sort of quality are the maps that you download. I'm wondering if they are up to Ordnance survey type standard so that i could use it for ski-ing (rather than buy the memroy map OS type map for £50!!! cheers Wilf How about using Google Maps? SF
Guest scottt Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 (edited) I had thought about wifi router but my m500 and c500 dont have wifi, so if there was a way to do it over bluetooth that would be better, if I ever get them to work with Navizon. Edited January 19, 2008 by scottt

Guest tsutton Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 I then paired my m3100 with the tytnII and on the m3100 -bluetooth settings - device - tytnII I have serial port ticked and dialup network unticked Hmm, I can't find a way to select serial port on the ttynII. It's just not there. All I have is "Dial Up Network".
Guest scottt Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 (edited) Hmm, I can't find a way to select serial port on the ttynII. It's just not there. All I have is "Dial Up Network". It was on the m3100 that I had serial port ticked and I used the m3100 to pair - make shure gps gate it running first. I could not get it to connect last night so I deleted the pair and tried again but did not get the serial port option, I traced the problem to gps gate direct and bluetooth server(scn 25) not running in gps gate output settings, after a soft reset I tried to pair again and got the serial port option on the m3100. I dont have anything ticked on the tytnII. Hope this helps Scottt Edit Just tried it with serial port unticked and it still works - in gps gate output setting bluetooth server (scn 25) tells me 1 client connected. Guest petec500 Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Does anyone know if it's possible to share an external BT GPS connection across two phones? I've got 3 phones (C500, Qtek8310 & HTC Touch), but only two GPS units.
Guest petec500 Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Sorry - one more question: Can anyone confirm if the logged data is stored in memory even when Navizon is closed down and the phone switched off? I'm going to the States next week and intend to log over there, but i dont want to sync every day due to charges - i'd rather wait until i get back to Blighty and sync it all in one go.
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 petec500, AFAIK Navizon stores to disk so it should work as you desire. Plenty of open hotspots i'm sure tho to upload :) P

I've got 3 phones (C500, Qtek8310 & HTC Touch), but only two GPS units. I'm using a VarioII connected to a GPS and running GPSGate. Then connecting a c500 to the VarioII to get the GPS data. It was working but seems to have stopped now, maybe I've switched something off.

Plenty of open hotspots i'm sure tho to upload :) P Thanks Paul. That's a relief. It's one thing that's amazed me though since using Navizon - just how many un-secured APs there are. Even just driving around my local area, there are loads! I feel like knocking on doors to highlight this to the un-educated and charging them to set it up to be secure.

Thanks Demusss - just found GPSGate on the net, but it looks like $40 for the standard version that allows sharing of GPS data across more than one device. That would take a hell of a lot of points to pay off!
Guest Monolithix Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Hmm - either i'm missing something or people are confusing visible aps with un-secured ap's. Just because Navizon can pick them up does not mean you can connect to them! :)

Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 $20 is what I see, coincidentally about 1 Navizon reward! http://www.franson.com/gpsgate/purchase.asp?license=standard P
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 (the cheaper express version doesn't enabled sharing over bluetooth) P
Guest Fozza Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 (the cheaper express version doesn't enabled sharing over bluetooth) P Well spotted :D I have justed tried it out today (I'll be honest did not really understand what you were getting at when you replied to my post with the photo in it :) ) Works a treat! Couple of time it seemed to get confused and not find a signal from COM 4 but a quick soft reset on the Kaiser and we were off again. Save me having to use the BT GPS receiver and more imporrtantly yet another plug socket :D As I have just got my 6th reward today I might as well spend it on this. Thanks for the heads up . C
