Guest MadMatt2002 Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 There's an auto sync option tucked away somewhere IIRC, but i've got into the habit of syncing before I exit. Has anyone bought the pro version? I'm tempted to plough my first 'earnings' back into the pro version to get WiFi positioning. P I've got autosync selected.... strange.... Will try it again on the way home.
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 In the CamerAware integrated version i'm going to set it to sync automagically every 5 minutes I think... P

Guest tsutton Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 But as you already have GPS, what advantages would that give you? Geek factor? ;P
Guest tsutton Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Are people finding that the data is auto-synced to the server, or are they having to manually sync? My data only appears on navizon.com if I do press "sync" What data settings is anyone using? I am seeing the same issue however to be honest, the wording says "Auto Sync daily" so it sync one a day if that's what it meant.
Guest tsutton Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 modaco group created on navizon. Group name = modaco password = modaco It's not private at the moment.
Guest MadMatt2002 Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 It's not private at the moment. Any better now?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 But as you already have GPS, what advantages would that give you? Not all my devices have GPS, and sometimes I might want to do things like 'find my nearest' without having to wait for a GPS fix (where a Navizon approximate fix would be sufficient). P
Guest tsutton Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 mrhumphreys added me but no idea who it is! So haven't accepted it. Anyone from here?
Guest MadMatt2002 Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 mrhumphreys added me but no idea who it is! So haven't accepted it. Anyone from here? Sorry Tony - that was me! Saw from an earlier post that you had signed up, was just seeing how the buddy system work! Apologies! Matt
Guest tsutton Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 (edited) LOL, no worries. :( Edited January 4, 2008 by tsutton
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 :( CamerAware is now logging APs and Cells completely from within the application (without Navizon even installed on the device), final hurdle is that when I call the sync it is returning failed. Nearly there :D P
Guest tsutton Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Now the question: On Navizon - on the phone, it is showing as "Tracker Status: Disabled" What it is and how do I enable it?
Guest MadMatt2002 Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 (edited) Think that is a feature on the premium version UPDATE: I think if you go to the map view, select buddies, and then Send Location ???? Edited January 4, 2008 by MadMatt2002
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 These are the kind of news posts I love. It's not new NEWS per se, but it's an interesting conversation starter :( P
Guest tsutton Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Think that is a feature on the premium version UPDATE: I think if you go to the map view, select buddies, and then Send Location ???? Gotcha, working fine. But don't think I will use it. (or on some day I might use it)
Guest tsutton Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 I am tempted to go for a "drive around" over lunch. :(
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 I reckon on the drive thru London I earned more than I spent in petrol, so overall had a profitable trip :( P
Guest tsutton Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Has anyone tried using the "Local database" and working offline? How do I transfer the data when the phone do not have GPRS or WiFi access? I guess I could use it and when I'm done with it, I use ActiveSync to transfer the data?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Use local database, then hit the manual 'Sync' option when you want to Sync I think! P
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 This is what you would do when you are abroad for example. I'm looking forward to all the points I can rack up when I drive to the alps :( P
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 I also need to retrace all my routes with my O SIM, my Voda SIM, my 3 SIM... etc. etc. :( In fact, almost worth signing up for those free PAYG SIMs to drop in your device and get points no? P
Guest tsutton Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 This ideas are getting too crazy. lol
Guest leedsrgaskell Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 I don't know if I'm being a bit backward here but can I get this straight; Navizon doesn't require GPS to find your position assuming you are in their coverage area, but do you require a GPS device to tag Access points and Cells? (Yeah, still haven't got one!) -- lrg
