Finally, as mentioned previously, it's worth doing the 'net CF 3.5' update detailed in this post for improved performance.

I'll be honest and say that I didn't really understand what you where on about in that post.

Could you dum it down a bit?

Daft question time ... but why do none of the RC versions update themselves to the new version?

Im currently downloading the cab on the PC, rename to .txt, email it to my handset, download, rename to .cab and install! (thats because I don't sync with the PC that much!)

Because if people with Beta auto update to RC, they'll end up with 2 versions installed :D

Of course the final versions will update, and CA3 will be going final real soon!

In this post...

  • Download and install both CABs
  • Run the '.net Configuration' app that is in Programs
  • Select 'Device Policy'
  • Drop down the selection box and select 3.5
  • Click Apply, then OK

Then, when you hit 'About' in CamerAware, it should report it's using version 3.5 of the Compact Framework, and you should see improved performance!

I don't know if it's just me (again!) :) but I've been having quite a few crashes of the RC2 version of CA3 since I installed it on Saturday.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it might be the "Auto Update" function that crashes it. With that unticked it seemed to be OK. With it ticked the crashes always seem to happen.

I just left it running for a while now while at home and it's crashed again, the error code says: CamerAware.exe IndexOutOfRangeException .... at System.String.get_Chars(Int32index) ..... etc. (I have a photo of the rest if you need it).

Then left it running for another hour or so with auto update off and it was OK.

I'll try the new RC3 tomorrow and see if it still happens.

Is this selectable to turn off? I have a very minimalistic home so I don't have any programs in the "tray", and since I'm running Wisbar which gives me a drop-down app selector anyways.

I'm sorry if I'm a little behind the current RCs. Been busy with something.

The auto update literally only runs when you first hit connect.

I guess I can tolerate it messing with my screen space for that little bit. :) I've noticed the tray actually staying around w/o CA running, but I haven't replicated it yet. Otherwise, nice release.

With CA3 (latest RC) in "night" skin(selected by auto night mode) if CA3 goes to full screen, (which it seems to do for no real reason!) full screen is in "day" skin, when you revert back to normal display, it stays in the "day" skin.

Just for the record, i've confirmed that i can now run CA3 and TTN6 concurrently which i couldn't do before - nice fix Paul!

Only one slight issue: If i run CA3 first, then TTN6, i have to set TTN6 to use the GPS on COM5 (software port), but if i run TTN6 stand-alone, i have to set it to COM7 (hardware port)! Bit of a pain, but i guess i can live with it on the basis that i'm almost always going to be running both at the same time.

Would be nice to have a batch file that ran both with one keypress though...... any neat tricks for this?

Weird that TT can't 'initiate the GPS' connection as it were! With regards to neat tricks for running both together, watch this space :)

Hummm anybody else notice that their points are not getting added to their totals today or is it just me?

stuck on 97279 for 200 miles .

I think Navizon are having some issues with points coming thru a bit delayed. Apparently they are doing some DB upgrades...?

My points took three days to adjust correctly following a trip this weekend.

Navizon support said

"We have made some improvements.

On my own account, when i synced (8 new aps and 4 cells), the rewards points increased by a few hundred points. This matches fairly well with the points I thought I was missing after a trip I did this weekend.

So try to collect a few more points and sync them to the server. See if that helps."

All looks ok now and RC3 working well <_<

I have had a lot of problems the last few days when I Sync. I keep getting message points check failed... I have tried twice in the last hour both failed. I have kept up to date with all the new versions Paul has posted. :)

Yes, sometimes it will sync OK....other times it wont.

Yes, a load of points from today's drive to Bristol and back just appeared after the total staying the same for a few hours! :)

Further to my previous post, i have had some issues running CA with TTN6 this evening. All was well, with CA running in the background and TTN6 showing me the way, but when CA detected a camera location ahead, it jumped to the front and apparently killed TTN6, which i had to restart.

I'll explore this more over the next few days to see if i can get consistent results.

Hi Paul;

Hope you can help.

I flashed my Kaiser yesterday with the TLR Rom, everything works fine - except i CA won't accept my Navizon credentials.. CA seems to time out when validating my credentials. I know that data is working as i can download mails etc and my navizon password allows me to log on (so i know that is right!)

I am running CA3.080225 with Compact Framework 3.5.7283.0

I think the Navizon systems are just running unbelievably slow, and the authentication is timing out :)

To see what I mean, go to the Navizon site and try and view your rewards status.
