Hi,

Hard to describe in words, so here are some screen grabs, from an iMate smartphone. The images are really animated multimedia ringtones, so they also have sound; some stereo. The colors are much sharper and more vibrant on the phone screen than below.

Here, you are in the role of the person receiving phone calls.

PeterD's calls to you are announced with the Panda animation & sound. You might have assigned it to him, or PeterD might have chosen it himself. The latter is new - we don't think you will have seen this before.

mmm's calls to you are announced with the monkey animation & sound. Again you might have assigned it to mmm, or they might have picked it themselves. Both are equally valid.

The 3rd image shows the mobile portal where you manage everything. There's also a PC portal - http://www.monikker.com

The last image shows the monikker enabled call history, which is like a regular call history except that you also get to see the monikker images of people who have called (you can click on them and play them too).

You can choose a 'World monikker' or a 'Phone monikker' or both:

• Your World monikker is seen by other monikker users, on their phone, when you call them.
  
  
• Your Phone monikker is seen by you, on your phone when other people call you - anyone at all, not just other monikker users (more correctly calls from others who don't yet have their own World monikker).
  

How it works: If mmm changes her 'World monikker', this is transported to your mobile phone next time mmm calls you or you call mmm, and calls from mmm will from now on be announced with mmm's new World monikker. It's cached on your phone so that it is only downloaded one time. All this happens in the background, automatically. (BTW, monikker media is small - animation + mp3 sound on average less than 50k.)

You can also have special monikkers for particular people. Ie. just for calls to that person.
