I really think you guys are going to hate this phone.

SE look like they have put a pretty heavy front end on it which means that all those custom home screens and extra software will be tricky to install.

It's the same problem as the iPhone where it is not designed for the tech savy user who is not just satisfied to run something as it comes out of the box.

Having said all of this, this is pure porn and I like all of you, I am thinking this is the replacement for my S710.

If you look at the newly posted pics it looks like you can get to the normal today screen, which is where all the funky homescreens and layouts go, I dont thinkit will be a problem for people wanting to customise.

^ I agree, after all the OS is WM6 I don't see why we wouldn't be able to customise it as normal, anyways, there'll be customised ROMs for it :)

Where's the soft key buttons on the slide out keyboard btw? Are they A and L (hence the 'cut outs')? What does the smiley face key do?

So many questions :)

I was wondering the same thing too. Also what is up with the memorycard. It looks like oyu have to take the battery out to exchange your memorycard.....

When can we get our grubby hands on this thing is my biggest question at the moment.

Yeah, but that price isn't based on any real data i'd suggest.

Do you need soft keys when the display is a touch screen?

To save touching the screen when typing on the KB. I use those keys a lot on my Kaiser...

And it's 2H 2008, not May.

Does H2 mean literally as soon as it's the second half of the year, or some time in the second half of the year? If it's the latter, could be like around Christmas time :) !

:D

Sony ericsson xperia X1 delayed until...........wait for it.............FEBRUARY 2009!!!! on sony ericssons official website. Why do manufacturers do this with mobile phones. I can understand if it was a car or something. But delaying a phone by a year is just ridiculous. Why give the competion a head start and show them your product a year in advance....Nokia, samsung & the rest must be laughing.

So why are they boasting about video calling on their web site? I have not seen any sign of a front facing camera. Although the Sony 9 panel interface looks slow and buggy in all the videos I've seen, this phone still looks like it will kick my Kaisers butt.

You don't need a front facing camera to do video calling (although admittedly it isn't very practical :D)

So the only place you can do a real video call is in front of a mirror. . .

Oh well, this will probably still replace my Kaiser if only because it will actually work on Tmobile USA's 3G network whenver it gets to my town.
