Actually, joost - are you gonna have a spare set of buttons?

Altho they are not pictured in that auction, they are mentioned in the description...

You need to swap the RAM chips...

P

Really? You just ruined my week :/

Are there some more information on this topic somewhere?

In the Russian thread it says (translated by Google):

Firmwares ASUS P750 are designed for devices with 64 or 128 RAM.

That's why I assumed that it would work without a hardware modification.

Also, there is alot of people giving feedback on those roms so I have a hard time believing that they all did the hardware modification..

Someone brave enough to try?

0.17...

I wish Sorg would add apptodate support so I could see when it's updated easier :D

P

Yes, indeed. :(

How is the battery consumption for you? I found that the VGA ROM I was using (1.02, or whatever it was called then) was not so good on that front. When I switched back to QVGA, it was a huge improvement.

I've only ever used it with the VGA ROM really, so hard to benchmark :(

I'm not sure I could go back to VGA on it, it looks fuzzy :D

Well, I don't like ClearType on QVGA. That's what makes it fuzzy. Without it, the letters are at least crisp. Yeah, not as good as for VGA (on which ClearType works great). But it's OK.

Hi guys, after listening to the lastest podcast, im pretty much convinced that this could replace my keiser. However, are they continuing to make the p750 with a vga screen? I thought I read somewhere it was only the first few batches....

I Dont want to order a new one from devicewire and find out its not got the vga screen!

How are you ex keiser users finding it without a full qwerty?

many thx

Absolutely fine. I didn't really like using the qwerty keyboard anyway, as I almost always want to use my PDA one-handed.

Also, I've been texting on phones for over a decade, so it comes naturally! :D

Anyone know where i can get hold of the ram chips for the p750?

Or even better a company who will do the modification?......128mb of ram in the p750 would be perfect.

i know when i had my imate Jam i sent it off to PPCTECHS in the US who upgraded the ram from 64mb to 128 and shipped it back.

i may fire them an email to see if they can do it.....Just depends if i can get hold of the memory chips though.

Edit:

Just checked http://www.pocketpctechs.com/ and they are still offering the ram upgrade service.

I got reply today saying they dont support this device yet....which is a bit of a shame.

They do upgrades for other Asus PPC's

Does anyone know the exact chip..Maybe if i tell them the chip thats needed they may be able to do the work.

Does anyone know anywhere else who could do the upgrade if they cant?
