Guest Fleabag Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 MDA Compact IV, and whatever it will be called HTC branded. A very intuitive extension of Windows Mobile 6.1 too.
Guest timeline Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 What would be awesome would be: Video drivers for their devices? Oh wait, they're not 'multimedia devices' HTC don't really do anything exciting anymore, since their attitude towards customers are now clear. If anyone else had a device with 128MB ram I'd go for it - why must it be so rare?
Guest Menneisyys Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 MDA Compact IV, and whatever it will be called HTC branded. A very intuitive extension of Windows Mobile 6.1 too. It, as with the HTC-manufactured Xperia X1, will not be sold by other rebranders, only T-Mobile and S-E. This means, for example. the MDA Compact IV won't even be available for non-T-Mo customers.

Guest Paul (MVP) Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 Ummm, remember the MDA Compact III was also marketed as the generic Artemis (P3300), so never say never! P
Guest Menneisyys Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 Unless they buy off-line right? Dunno if it'll be possible to unlock it, in the first place... I think T-Mo & HTC will do their best to make it impossible to unlock (albeit, so far, they have always failed at this :D ). And there's no T-Mo in many countries, further making getting one harder for the citizens of a country where T-Mo doesn't operate.
Guest Menneisyys Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 What would be awesome would be: Video drivers for their devices? Oh wait, they're not 'multimedia devices' Yup, this is also my major problem with their current lineup. The Nokia N95 is so much better in everything multimedia / camera / gaming (and let's add call recording, which I would love to see in much more Windows Mobile models) than any HTC product... no wonder (also) I'm pretty much disappointed with HTC.

"locking" handsets is merely another revenue stream for them ..... T-Mo would happily unlock the phone for you if you hand over the cash ..... in any case, there are countless websites and mobile phone shops that will be able to do it for you a few months after launch !

You might want to get one in Belgium :D Selling branded and locked phones is illegal over here .... Cheers, Dirk Edited April 13, 2008 by dirlan2001

Yet again, I am spot on. I've known the release date for this device since November of last year. June 16th baby! Looking forward to it. Edited May 6, 2008 by Fleabag
