Guest stigdu
I sometimes find that if I've left my PDA alone for a while, it's clocked up about an hour or two of online time and I have to press the disconnect button. I hope I'm not getting charged by Orange for spending time online even though I'm not downloading anything! I'm pretty sure I'm not accidentally pressing any buttons on the phone, so I wonder if there's some software I have on my phone that is auto-connecting? Does anyone else have this problem? I am running Mobile Shell 2 from SPB software warehouse, Map 24 and Tom Tom 5, otherwise no other third-party programs.... *confused* Any help much appreciated! Guest chucky.egg
Your device will connect only if something you're running requires a connection. I don't know any of those applications, but I suspect Map 24 and TT5 will both connect if they are running Dont forget other built-in stuff like email, weather app on the Today screen, RSS readers etc. Also remember that you get charged for the transfer of data, not for the connection being open. You might want to get a data monitoring application so you can see how much data is being sent. Very small amounts may not be an issue, but data is expensive, especially on Orange

I don't suppose you know a good (preferably free!) app for monitoring data traffic for this pda, do you? :D

Guest andrewkeith5
there ought to be a htc branded version of spb gprs monitor on the cd that came with the phone, which is quite useful to keep track of how much internet you've used
