Hi

I'm new to the forum and am starting off with a multi-question post, so hopefully that's well received.

I've just picked up a HTC Tilt on the AT&T plan and am just trying to get things set up the way I want them. I've been struggling with a couple of things and was hoping somebody here might help me out.

If there are apps required, I always prefer freeware but am open to shelling out some cash for a good app that come highly recommended.

Problem 1) The AT&T guy copied my contacts from my old CDMA phone to the Sim on my tilt, result, all messed up as it only copied one number, and not always the right one. What I want to do is delete all of the contacts from the Sim but have been unable to find anything that lets me do this. I need an app like bitpim to allow me to access these contacts from my PC so I can take them out and replace them with the correct numbers, probably through syncing with Outlook.

Problem 2) I have my device synced to Outlook, which is working fine. I access my e-mails from a POP box. I can set up an account on my tilt to access my e-mails but it stores them in a separate set of folders until I d/l onto my PC. Then when I sync the Tilt they show up in my Outlook folders on the Tilt. The big issue is that my 'sent' emails from my Tilt e-mail don't get transferred across to the Outlook folders and I can't work out how to do this. Maybe there's a better e-mail app for the tilt?

Question 3) Is there a decent 'Golf Course' GPS package for WM? Something like SkyCaddie but for the Pocket PC?

Question 4) What's the best 'device management' app out there? I don't mind paying. Maybe it's something that can solve the above two problems also?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Cheers

Richie

1. There is an app out there called SIM2Copy~ or somehting like that, which allows copying to and from the SIM card. My suggestion would be to sync up your contacts with outlook, and then delete them from your phone. I don't know if a was to do it en mass, but I am sure you could google it.

2. If this is a Domain based email account, there should be a option to leave a copy of the messages on the server, so that your desktop would retrieve a copy as well. I think your sent items would follow suit, but I have not had Domain based emails in a while. You also should also be able to select Menu>Tools>Manage Folders>, and syc your folders by checking the box.

3. I am not a game guy

4. Not sure what you mean? Like Windows Device Manager?

Hi

In complement to KevinAlbrecht, I would add that in programs, you've got a sim manager from where you can add / delete sim contacts, or there is a shareware "jeyo mobile companion" which manages contacts and sim contacts. it can copy from sim to phone and reverse, and of course delete contacts.

Thanks

I just went to the AT&T store in the end to get a new Sim which solved that problem.

Still can't get a work around for the e-mail problem, will take a closer look over the weekend.

Trying some of the recommended software options I've found in some threads here.

The first Golf app I looked at was Intelligolf, which doesn't look to be much good so will look for another.

Overall, I really like the device. It's been a good while since I had a Pocket PC PDA and I think M$ucks have improved the software.

Cheers
