Guest gords Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 Is it possible to setup ActiveSync to sync with Exchange Server 2003 via a WiFi connection? This is only for when I am in and around the office, not (necessarily!?) when I am in Starbucks, etc! The Exchange Server is already setup for OWA, which does work. The URL is HTTPS ... do I need to (somehow) install the certificate on my TyTN? I currently have ActiveSync working via USB, but when I try sync'ing with Exchange, I get an error (0x8502006). Is this possible to do? Is there a tutorial around anywhere? I've searched this forum and other places but haven't found a definitive set of setup instructions ... yet!
Guest WearTheFoxHat Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 It should be possible, I use my phone with a hosted exchange service, which works over WiFi or GPRS. This might help: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/solutiona...c.mspx?mfr=true
Guest gords Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 This might help: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/solutiona...c.mspx?mfr=true This for Exchange 2007 and I have 2003 - I'll have a read as it might give me some clues though.
Guest jimbouk Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 It will work fine. Just import the certificate into your pc, then copy it across to your device. Just set your device up to sync with the server using the fqdn (the external domain name for owa) and then as long as you have web connectin (wifi/usb/gprs) it will sync. Directpush won't work over wifi but manual/scheduled syncing will.
