I have my own exchange server with SSL and its url is like the following:

https://domain.co.uk/exchange

thing is, my mobile device doesnt seem to like that url when trying to configure an exchange email account as it just leaves it in as domain.co.uk

any ideas on how I can configure it correctly?

You do not put in the URL... you only specify the server name. For example, if the Exchange server is resolved by the fully qualified domain name as "mailserver.domain.co.uk" then you would enter just that, not the http based URI. You cannot enter just the domain name but must include the server specific name as well - whatever from the public DNS record will get you to the specific system in question.

I dont know about that. I did setup the entire server myself (test server, practice etc...)

hmm. there isnt a subdomain like malserver.domain.co.uk - the only url to it is the url mentioned earlier...

the DNS setup on the server as the FQDN is exchange.domain.local

so should it be exchange.domain.co.uk entered on the mobile device?

the website I have is just domain.co.uk and the exchange server is on https as https://domain.co.uk/exchange

edit: ok more details. I get this error on the device:

"your account in Microsoft exchange server does not have permission to syncronize with your current settings. contact your exchange server administrator"

what do I do here to configure it?

error support code: 0x85010004

in ESM - enable user initiated syncronization is enabled as is direct push

When you setup the exchange server, you need to enter the fully qualified domain name for the exchange server.

exchangeserver.domain.co.uk etc

But then assuming you have allowed RPC over HTTPS, then you can then enter the https://domain.co.uk/exchange bit. Also you will need to enter your username and password for the exchange server in the correct format:

domain\username

password

What exchange version are you using? Have you got outlook working with it remotely?
